« on: March 18, 2014, 08:08:17 PM »
Had a good time out on the water all weekend down at Mcintyre. It was my buddys birthday and we spent it in goose flats. Can't wait till the water gets a bit warmer for sure! Hung with 1979 hornet, that boat is bitchin. really nice gel for sure. Also talked with uncleBOBBY and his brother when they got back from running there boat. Mac also got invaded by hidden beaches. Nice seeing sam and steve. Stop by any time.

SoCal Lakes / Re: Irvine Lake
« on: March 15, 2014, 08:57:23 AM »

Haa, the water looked nice, at least cleaner than Elsinore...I was trying to find another somewhat local lake that I could take my boat out for a day. But the river is still the best.
The only way boats like ours are allowed on irvine is for wendsday afternoon test and tune. It's 50$ to run there one boat on the lake at a time and lots of boats trying to make passes.

I have a stock 454 block in my garage I need to get built here soon for the summer for my 21 open bow jet.
I have 30 over pistons and rings and most all of the all the parts needed for the rebuild. Just need my 049 heads redone and with new valves.
Any ideas of what I'm looking at spending and know of some good reasonable builders in the area.
just needs to be build reliable for the boat.

Thanks any info helps.
I use tom label at auto marine engineering in glendora for all of our motor work for the race boat and our river boats. He was a nascar guy for years and does great work. I forget what he charges to assemble a motor but i know its under 2500 bucks. He also has a dyno if you want that done as well.

Today i got the intake reset in the boat. I made sure the the shoe was around 1/8 of an inch above keel and the intake was set in at 4.1 degrees. ALSO F that sea going epoxy! it sucks to work with! Ill have to flip the boat over to blend the intake entry here in a few days.

I got bored sitting around waiting for the glass to dry, so i ended up detailing the exit side of the bowl. used all hand tools to do this.

First trip to McIntyre this year any word how the water has been?
I just went threw the boat, I changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I also added a tunnel ram and cleaned her up today and installed the new tac. I also checked all the bolts on the motor mount and made sure the cables were clear and working properly. Should be a good weekend to clean my trailer and spend the rest of the day on the beach.

The whole event is done. Don't know the details but I think it had something to do with the crash that had a death this morning.

What about wrapping them??? Anybody done that? I have wrapped numerous motorcycle exhausts bbc and sbc headers on cars and trucks but never on a boat. Has anybody done that? Wrap is a lot cheaper.

JMO, Wrap should stay on motorcycles. Just looks wrong on boat headers.

Ceramic coating is the way to go. I had mine done by Embie in Santa Anna. Runs around 200$ or so

I need to get the air cleared here as reputations are on the line.

Can someone confirm or dismiss that JetBoatPlus was involved in the theft of this boat?
I am working on it right now brad.

What is weird is the guy is paying them to put the boat back together. Something fishy going on here.
Every part has been recovered. I don't think mike will be using them. Agreed that something weird is going on.

Random Boat Parts For Sale / Re: Race Nozzle
« on: March 04, 2014, 11:53:32 PM »

Yes, but this is a short nozzle, so the bucket sets back a couple inches past the nozzle.
I didn't realize this till after I got it. Jake had a standard nozzle on it. Maybe he can fill us in on the set up.
That's as much as I know about it. The way you got it was the way I took it off the DiMarco. I had no use for it because I had a diverter to use for it. Aparently that was the set up used when it ran comp jet +6 degrees of up wedge.

Jet Pumps / Re: Setting Berkeley pump
« on: March 04, 2014, 07:44:01 PM »
The intake you have is a 7 degree low profile intake from Berkley. It is smaller and less tall than the normal 4 degree that Berkley makes.
The low profile intake makes the water bend less going into the pump and creates more lift.
The low pros are more for tunnel boats and Gull wings. V bottoms don't need the extra lift from the intake.

Looks like an R with the 6 bolt loader setup to me.  As was said, replace with a standard or have Jack at MPD modify it to a 4 bolt as he did mine in the past.

X2 i would not use that low pro in that boat.
