The impeller on a stern drive (especially a Mercruiser) realistically should be replaced every year. We change ours every other without fail.by chance you wanna give me a link to fine one that would be cool as again I have a jet I know nothing about I/o it's a 5.7 merc cruiser magnum
If no water is coming out at all, you need the whole kit, housing included.

steam at an idle is normal then above that it's pushing through more water which is too much to boil to make steam. You should see water coming from the exhaust at that point

They are cool to the touch because you have the water running through them. Mine are the same way, except mine probably still get warmer than yours. But pipes is right, theoretically you shouldnt be able to see much of it until a little higher rpm. Does it look like this?yea just like that
