Being the driver of that boat this past Feb. at the ADBA Race at Bluewater, I can say that boat is a runner for sure! The short time I got to drive that boat, I really enjoyed it...the most responsive jet I've ever experienced! We tried to convince the previous owner to keep that thing...but he has 2 boats already and blah blah blah. We brought home a runner-up trophy in ME! Could have been a winner but it got blown out! We were sitting in the Final round waiting to see who our competition was when the wind hit. You got yourself a really nice piece there...and the motor is solid!

get back to work! between the 2 of us we have 4 boats and not 1 is ready for summer and it's 4-19!

Really looking forward  to summer . I will hopefully  have it all ready to run around 2nd week of April. Going to run it on the motor , before installing  the Nx system.  Going with a few other boats to the Parker race .

Is Larry going to run the CP? If you guys need a lifeline jacket let me know, just got it re-certified before the Feb race

Waiting for the tax return then I'll make my move. Drove a cp to 103.2 last weekend,  so that got me wanting to get a new hull.

Boats For Sale / Re: California Performance Jet Boat #1

As you can see I am a new member. I also happen to be the new owner this boat. I have been a boat owner for ~20 years, however my back ground is motorcycles, not boats. I am merely a recreational boater.
I am sure you guys hear about boat deals more often than I and you don't have to look far to find some rough stories. Speaking on behalf of this deal, doing business with Steve far exceeded any expectations. Being in business I know how things can be at times. He and his son are absolute professionals and went over and above to make certain I was comfortable, understood what I was getting into, making certain the boat was in absolute pristine condition upon delivery which included them driving the boat to my river property to make certain we ran the boat together on Friday. He answered any questions, had reciepts for eveything and took whatever time needed to again, make certain I was comfortable. His character and integrity is top notch!
How did it run................First pass on GPS it ran 103mph. The boat is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!!!  Thank you Steve and (son) Steve.

Larry

Thanks Larry and thanks for letting Stevie take it for a spin, I went by C&J today and John printed up the specs for the carbs and my wife put them in the mail for you so keep an eye out for them, enjoy your new
boat and be sure to get your self a good life jacket, when things go wrong they go wrong fast and you need to give yourself the best chance you can! Steve

Sold! I have to say the California Performance following is impressive! If I didn't have 2 other boats this would have been a fun boat to keep!
It's a runner! It will be around the blythe area, might want to think twice before pairing up with it! Be safe- Steve

Very nice set up! I have a early 18 as well registered as a 78 PJB00604578 I've been wanting to get some history on as well. Suppose to be around a 420lb lay up. One thing I can say is it sure doesn't take a lot of power to make the early 18s run. My boat on motor runs 98 and on nos 118 via autometer gps and I'm still a lil under 1000hp with my nitrous tune. I really didn't mean to thread jack but just looking for info. Good luck sale. Defiantly worth the money

Gimme that BECKY!

here is an post from PB on some history of the PJB's. I was wondering how mine could be #1 out of the mold when there are older ones than mine. It seems Mine was the 1st out of the Scotten/Shoemaker
mold after they acquired it and did what they did to it.

So it was #1. Boat looked good and for being all original is in real good shape. My boat maybe pushes 600 horsepower and I had a hell of a time slowing it down all weekend. Gullwings are a bad ass boat. Nice talking to Ya on the rope

Thanks for the heads up about the ser.# It was my buddy that was driving that you were talking to. I do the wrenching and paying for it part and he gets to drive.
What round did you make it to on Sunday?

I was surprised also how fast this boat went with this motor package, it ran 91mph in my 18' Advantage on gps
these times were 1000', might be taking it to Ming in March to see what it does 1/4 mile
I would guess 10.0 with probably 103-105 mph
this would make a perfect river rocket for somebody

we adjusted the valves once and put a new set of spark plugs in it Saturday morning! ran 8.0's all weekend

I traded my DiMarco runner for this in October, had the motor re-built , changed cam and springs, installed motor and took to Parker last weekend
and ran an 8.03 @ 97.06 right off the trailer, we had a best mph of 100.31. While at the races it was brought to our attention that this boat was the 1st

set up with no timers etc., still looks like a river boat but runs the #! Turn key $16,000 or with out motor $11,000  Boat is located in Upland Ca.
