Thanks man. Wanna do a ride plate and a few things I'd like to see 90 in it no reason motor shouldn't pull it just the hull and pump setup holding me back. I saw 83mph today with lil chop and alone in the boat. So I'm pretty close. Next weekend I should be out again no reason not too cheap easy fun with the boy
motor definitely got the potential. .. right on 83 nice! I think someone recorded the Willie you busted in the cove!! Dope that's the same reason I come out so much playing in my backyard!! Lol

Is that something I can just pick up at autozone or do I need to go to a marine supply?

Thanks Steve, I have a few friends who have boats but not jets. Most likely I'll have one of them come out on first launch to keep an eye on the motor as we put around. I was told to make the first passes short and tune as needed then grow to longer runs on the lake. I'm assuming(with no boating experience) that it would be somewhat similar to a seadoo as far as turning. I do know that I must throttle through turning because if I don't it's not going anywhere. Definitely looking to launching and learning what boating is all about!

« on: March 22, 2016, 07:14:15 PM »
I really appreciate all the help guys. Yeah it wasn't good. Yeah I'll go check the lines on it. Would I just un hook the jacket from the bottom of the headers? And plug the hose in and try to flush the system? Or take a air gun and spray it out?

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats
I disconnected the line from the headers and ran a water hose from the inlet of the t valve... it honestly the wires probably were out too long. Snug them closer away from headers

Hey y'all so ive been having trouble with my 73 southwind bbf460. So last weekend I was at lake Elsinore and I put my boat in the water and as I was idling around waiting for it to warm up. So once I got up to temp, I pressed the throttle to the floor and it maxed out at 2800 rpms  after driving around the lake for about 5-10 mins the temp shot way up, so I turned the motor off and I went to look at the motor and noticed that my left header completely melted my 5th,6th, and 7th spark plug wires. So I don't know if I melted the spark plug wires then tried to press the pedal to the floor.... And was running on 5 cylinders?? So that makes me think my left header is not even getting water to cool it down .
Mind you the weekend before I ran the boat all day and it ran perfectly, and the motor was just completely rebuilt
Thanks for yalls help in advance
I had the same problem before... some sand in the lines connected to headers and some sand in my t valve.. cleaned it and no problems since I check my t valve frequently was this on wedsnesday last week u were getting towed and got close to see if you guys needed help
