Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: rpm's
« on: April 26, 2009, 04:15:06 PM »
I was told it was an A impeller.  12jc-A pump.  now i have no idea if somewhere along the road that has been changed or not but that what i was told was in it.  I am running low-mid 60's on gps.  Im thinking maybe the rpm gauge is set to 6cyl.  I will  have to check that when i get it back

It has some mild work done to it.  It has roller rockers, a mild cam, its bored .030 over with upgraded pistons and rings, full msd ignition & dizzy, harman marine tt headers, edelbrock performer intake w/ a holley 800 carb.  There is usually at least a 30pk or two in the boat. I have checked the timing with a light and everything seems accurate.  When i hose run it in the yard when you rev it the rpms runs all the way up to 5800-6000.  Obviously being in the water will put a different type of strain on the motor so i dunno.  I was just checking.  It seems like there is more in her and I didnt know if maybe there was something i was missing

Just wanted to see what your guys' input is on this....When i flatfoot the boat i am only at about 42-4300 rpms.  Its a 21ft with a 460, msd ignition/dizzy, a berk 12jc a pump.  I hear most people running closer to 5k rpm's.  Is there something that needs adjusting to get more out of it?  or is that normal?

I need a set of the crusader badge that you end up making.  If you can make me the one that is displayed in the picture without the rabbit that would be rad.  Im guessing a normal size would be 5" wide by 2" tall??

I am having almost all the wood replaced and resined.  I decided to keep the older style seating arrangement and have him re-wrap the seats with new foam and new style vinyl.  He is also going to make a couple new panels to go from the driver seat into the bow, incorporate 6 cup holders new pockets. Remove the older thin marine carpet and replace it with thicker marine carpet.  All together its around $1900.  I am going to try to stop by there this week and get some progress pics.  If anyone is interested in getting a quote from him give him a call.  Dropped off on a sunday at his shop because he is a buddy of mine.  He can do anything from building new seats, re-wrapping existing seats, doing cut-outs in panels for speakers, etc.  He does it all.

Audio / pioneer slim 12" woofers
« on: April 24, 2009, 09:25:00 AM »
one is 1200 watts and the other is 1000 watts both in truck boxes.  these are pioneer's slim subs.  i had both of them hooked up to a 1000 watt 2ch amp underneath the back seat of my chebby and it bumped hard.  they are $220 new for each sub and box.  Asking $200 for both or $120 a piece.  Selling because i haul my daughter around (6 months) and dont ever get to use them.

got an air raid intake.  Its the older metal tube style (still in perfect condition).  I ran it on the wife' seqouia and she thought it made it too loud so i took it off for her.  paid $200 asking $100.  I can ship it.  It has the maf sensor mounting location and all vac lines for it to pass smog.

Gelcoat / Paint / Fireberglass Repair / maaco for paint?
« on: April 23, 2009, 08:27:37 AM »
A buddy of mine just took his boat to maaco and had them paint it red for him.  the boat was white before but the gel was pretty bad in some spots and he tried wax/buffing but it didnt work so he went to maaco.  It turned out pretty clean.  Anyone had any experiences with maaco paint?  does it last?  :sly:

yeah bakersfield isnt really close to anything except for bakersfield.  I am keeping the og interior and re-doing everything.  I kinda like the older style seating.  you seat more people.  it was only another $100 to do captains seats and a rear bench.

dropped her off and picked out all the colors.  getting new carpet a couple new panels, new wood on two of the seats cause of rotting, and all new foam.  He is located in mission viejo.  Price is slightly higher due to the new panels and replacing the wood.  Total of 2020.  Ill ask him if its cool if i post up his number.  Ill be stopping by there periodically to take pics and ill post them up here.
