Not to side track or thread Jack but after the stringers are cut and before glassing over them, how are wood stringers attached/bonded to hull?

i see a lot of the drag boats i've pitted with run a vacuum pump and a dry sump. Humm is 3500 bucks worth 90 hp?
While this is a fantastic post, you sort of left out the most profound benefit.
Dry sumps "pull" the oil from the engine, this creates a pretty good "vacuum" thus creating lower crankcase pressures and improves ring seal, this can make a whole bunch of additional HP, add that to the fact that there is reduced crank splash and the pumps pull less HP than a standard pump with the same pressures, the gains can be quite substantial.
Plus they look bitchin and you can determine how much oil you want to run. It also affords you the choice of where to put that weight, weight distribution is huge in a straight line go-fast boat...

Thinking of selling my boat, want to go another direction.That's a sweet looking southwind 20. How much are you asking and location?
- 454 with 1 season on her, all good parts, aluminum heads, CP pistons, full roller motor made 614 HP on the dyno. This motor was built by a professional and not a garage mechanic, all receipts and dyno records to prove.
- Berkley split bowl with hydraulic diverter.
- All new interior including new floor, gauges, steering wheel and radio.
- Trailer has all new bunks and brakes, the tires are still in good shape, it tows nice.
- This is not a fire sale and if it does not sell it will be used all summer, looking for serious offers.
Probably missing a lot of items but this boat for being a 78 looks great. Let me know if your interested.

good deal i havent heard much about them but i know wess has a place craft that is a monster, its called thunder pumpkinMine is a old progas jet. Ran in the mid 80's and then sat till I got it. Thing ran in the mid 120's with 900 back in the day

Any suggestions on how much hp you will have?This will be CLM motor with help from mike miller 14.5 to 1 on E85, dry sump. Ya know. All that good stuff. hope to get 950+ were going to try for 9seconds and 8 on bottle with the new boat.
