Having retailed and had, virtually every phone and service in the world. I have to say that my service with T-Mobile (Save for the issues about a year and a half ago when the service was in my wifes name........WHAT AN ABORTION!!!!), and my Blackberry have been good to me. Through no fault of anyone but me, I'm on Blackberry #6 (Still have 2 at the bottom of Saguaro lake), I have beat the snot out of them, and have features I'll still never use.
Only bad part is the Tapatalk system just simply will NOT freakin work on this site for me.......

It IS possible to get roosted with them backwards........I did it to Nick unintentionally. 'twas ok, but coulda been bad, 
How it works out is this. Legally, if you have flame arrestors, OK to run 'em either way. Without flame arrestors, they HAVE to be faced away from the engine compartment on open engine boats. Closed engine compartments, you have no choice, they gotta be there.
In practice, Circle Racing boats run 'em that way because theres a LOT of water spraying around everywhere, at least that's what I think. Drag racers don't have this issue, really.
FWIW, my honest opninion is that while it takes around 10-15 HP difference to feel it "seat-of-the-pants" in a street or drag car, with NO OTHER CHANGES, it would take at least a 50 HP difference to feel it in these jet boats. You're not gonna see that with which direction the scoop is pointed.........

I'm with ya on it! At the Father's Day deal at Big River deal Last Year (Not this past one), my then new diverter I, apparently, did not loctite the bolt holding the cable to the reverse bucket. As we all left an upriver beach and headed back downriver to see who we could help get on the water (A few boats were being worked on at the ramp), I was last and after running at WOT for a bit, lifted for a wake, bucket apparently dropped, I nailed it hard again damn near threw me from the boat! In fact I'm still surprised it didn't.
Was fun nursing it back. Actually was kinda fine after awhile of figuring out what happened. Roll into it real slow and the pressure would open it up. Ralph came to the rescue with a diddy bag full of bolts and nylock nuts!
Fuggers are still on there loctited!

I'll send ya some pics and measurements from the engine hatch/sundeck from the Shrimpin' Boat. Should fit your ship as well. It's kinda cool and VERY light, but Fiberglass with small wood supports. I'll hafta do what you're gonna do as far as the front engine compartment/rear seat back area and make it up as I go along......
Glad the PD worked out for ya! Gonna need that nozzle from yours someday. Maybe next summer.

The other reason to stay BBC is......well, ask Nordie what a PITA it is to rerig the mounts, get everything aligned properly etc without the right equipment.......
Can be done, but your mount locations ARE going to change from where they were. But a SBC will work just fine in it.

BBC/SBC bellhousings are the same. Fronts are different They are BBC mounts that you have there. Unless you already got everything you need for a SBC, I'd just go BBC and call it a day.

Either a Rebel or a Sportster, for 1, ( personally I think it's a Rebel with the doghouse removed) yeah, HID would be the only way to know, they made both of the things from '69 through the 80's. If no HID, I would guess pre-'73.

Essentially, here's what it is. It is the tunnel hull version of my Pickle boat. Initially, Pickle was ID'd as a "Streaker". But it isn't. Streakers were 1/4 stringer and floored. Mine is NOT, nor is this one. So, apparently, this one is like mine, SST bottoms with Streaker tops? Same HID prefix as mine........
