I know there's a thread that was started by brad a month or two ago floating around here with a bunch of recommendations on ways to get em out. Can't remember how he did it but if you search his name on the forum and look at his topics you'll find it
Plans are put it together and hope it floats lol. Just gonna get it together get some interior possibly. Rebuild the engine then decide if I wanna keep it if I do ill strip it and paint it the same scheme just flipped. Instead of all black with the blue striping it will be all blue with black striping.
I just thought about this and it may be too late but if you make the fabric longer it stretches out the spacing on the hoops and brings it lower and when folded it would still drop in the same place.
I will always own a ford truck, every one in the Wilson family owns a ford truck. Always has and always will but a ford car eh not so much. Looks like they took a bad ass engine and put it in the ugliest body they could produce.
So I got hold of mouzer and he has the first drive line pictured and mine is the second. If you notice where I screwed up mine with channel locks trying to free the engine. It was in a wj pump which left the yoke exposed and now its goin in a yj which it slips in and there's a seal. So mine is no good. Question is if you notice mousers drive the yoke unbolts, will it bolt to my u joint and work? Fat fingered from the phone - Corey
Oh yah I read all that after I got my hull from him and was weirded out but about a day or so later he called me up telling me he found the rub rails and some other stuff for it and told me to come get it and handed it to me for free. Like I said I know of his history and I don't think ill be dealing with him again but he didn't do wrong by me. Wasn't running him down but wasn't reccomending him either. Like it was said he's got tender toes and a bit of a drinking issue so things get outta hand fast in his head.
Is there a number or way to get in contact with mouser? I need a drive line and this ernie guy is the only guy I have found with a Rockwell line for a chevy and he wants 100 and its got new u joints
I know of 3-4 guys in the San Berdino / highland area that deal used boat parts. I have met Dan (boatsalvage) and delt with him prior to knowing his history on here but other than being alittle off he wasn't a bad guy. But anyone heard of or delt with the Earnie guy ?
If its clicking the solenoid is working if its not spinning the engine is locked/ battery weak/ or the cables are old and no good or just have bad connections.
Oh and I prefer the tall cans. The mountains better be blue lol.
Well hp spins the prop so i would say horse power is horse power weather its big block or small block.id build a bad ass small block and leave it at that. I was informed by tom that the yj is a low pressure high volume pump that doesn't respond well to large amounts of horsepower. Iirc tom said anything over 500 is pushing it.
On another note I have seen like 4-5 mini and full size cruisers for sale on craigs w/ sbc's
Sounds like electrical to me. Id pull the starter/ battery and take it to your local auto store to test. If they test good id spend the 20$ on some cables and replace those. Then jump the starter and see if it cranks. That is if the engine is spinning and not seized. The alternator belt does spin when you crank the motor by hand right?
