I got this same issue with 1 piston.....press fit...

i looked around on the net, seems like there's no 'redneck home remedy' for this. ....looking for something i can do to get this bastard out, cleaned up and put back in without fighting with a machine shop

any suggestions?

OK, there's really not a redneck way to "fix" this. I am a victim, as are about 12 other people on this site right now, of bad assembly and cutting some corners. Mine, I blame myself totally. I mandated improper tolerances for the application, and assembled myself accordingly, taking "close enough" as "good enough". Learned a $4k lesson on Moo. Never Again.

Do it right ONCE and the first time. Might cost up front, but take the time to measure, measure, measure while assembling and if sumpin ain't right, get it to a shop. You'll thank me later when next year, or the following year, or 5 years down the road, your boats still running and a lot aren't.

ya the square with two handles on it. if you dont have one get one. i dont see what the big deal is. you can throw a life jacket just as far but they want you to have one so you have to have one

I say, we have enough members to make this a movement and legitimize this idiocy, we get B-rad to make some throwables with the SCJB logo, and a tag line underneath like "Yeah, we know it's stupid to have to carry one, so we made these" and have it do double duty as a flag...........

I cant figure out a way to get a spark arrester in my scoop. Its been on the boat since it was a year old and i dont want to change it.

Put it on backwards. As long as the flame travel is directed AWAY from the craft, you should be OK, EVEN here in Arizona. 

As a permanent fix, maybe modify the mouth of the scoop to be able to bolt in a cut apart and flattened flame arrestor across the front of it. Kinda like this of mine one is.

So, yeah, as the title says......Jeezuz.......Driving home tonight, an 8 mile portion of my drive to/from work is across a very straight road right through the middle of the Indian Reservation. Seen the signs for years "Watch for animals".....seen some dogs, ground squirrels, a snake or two, thats about it.

Crossed down that road tonight, about 40 minutes ago, driving my friends Xterra (Sergio's, some of you have met, he borrowed my truck for a hunting trip in Montana), and at 60 MPH, pitch dark out, Black and white cow with a calf just standing in the middle of my lane! Couldn't use High beams as a couple cars had just passed me going the other way. So here's the Readers Digest version.

Slammed on the brakes, veered right onto the dirt berm, then left REAL fast mashing the gas, pretty damn sure I had that little thing on two wheels (Which scared me even more). Then I noticed, realized really, all the rattling and crashing in the back seat. Paid no mind to it at the moment, as I thought I was done for, the truck then wanted to "wiggle" and wheel hop (Auto 4x4 kicked in, I'm guessing). By this point, I'm well past the cows, and trying not to die from all the swerving, braking and bouncing that was going on when I was hit in the back of the head with something. Turns out a few minutes ago it was a 10mm socket that I found on the dashboard. Sergio saw fit to leave his cheap ass tool boxes seatbelted in the back seat. Messicans, Cripes!  Squared the lil slanty eyed SUV up and slid it to a stop on the dirt berm about, I dunno, 150 feet from the damn cow, and took a whollop to the back of my right shoulder from a 1/2" breaker bar........ THAT HURT!

By the time I managed to collect my thoughts, and realized the truck was sideways 3 feet from 5 6" concrete poles to protect anyone from driving, or crashing into, the Maricopa Wash, only pics I could get turned out total darkness from my phone! No, I was NOT about to get real close to it for good pics, and yes, that probably had a lot to with shaking hands, etc. I drove home, my pants felt a little funny, and very wet from the water bottle I had in the console. Got home, opened a beer, 2 actually, on 4 now, and went and pulled out the FULL water bottle from the SUV while I was checking for damage. No damage. Skid marks in the underwear must be from the dirty car seat and Serg musta had another water bottle in there somewhere..........
