The o/b dump out the side I always thought was a great idea, but with logs, yeah, how?

Then again, in thinking about it, if the pump ain't pumping water, or if something's clogged or otherwise, the temp guage or (Hopefully not) another guage is going to let you know something is seriously amiss......

Just thinking out loud........

All the parts on your JB are the same as the JC and JG, except the split bowl is the same as the JG, the JC is a 1 piece bowl. Get a kit for a JG, you'll be fine. Call Tom at Jet Boat Performance.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Boating Safety
« on: August 25, 2010, 11:03:27 PM »
Just for clarification. To back B-rad up, the boating course is NOT required in Arizona. Regardless of age. Was stopped once with RJ driving Moo, and noone even asked. You ARE required to have an airhorn or loud whistle no matter the size of boat though.

Second thing on the OUI deal. Forget .08! They are attacking this from the "Impaired to the slightest degree" angle. .08 means NOTHING in Arizona (At least Maricopa county) either in a car, boat, atv, whatever.......if the fuzz wants to be a prick, you can, and these days with cops being layed off everywhere probably will, still be charged with an OUI or DUI at .01 if they can't find anything else!

Something to remember is that if we start closing down everything that can kill you... kiss the lake, river, bar, freeway, lawnmower, sand dunes, your harley, airlines, hospitals etc. goodbye.

Life is dangerous. Enjoy it while you're here!

THAT is extremely well said!

You must have two passanger side heads  ;D O0 J/K Looks like a bastard log to me

LOL! I actually processed that same thought before I posted!   :screwy: But where I was going was with a passenger side v-drive log, but probably still way off on that.

Check with Terry, I think his buddie Jay has, or had, a couple sets of center risers he was lookin to sell......

Ray

I'll bet you could build a chevy on the difference in building a blown ford over chevy.

No Doubt you're right, Terry! But Moo has never been anywhere even close to normal in this, or any, group. You've all accepted her, and me, well, I think it's time to step it up a few notches and see what happens. I've called on Paul Kane to help make this happen, so we'll see.

All this was supposed to happen to the Pickle!! Short block (BBC) even built for it, but when I pulled the tanks for larger tanks, no way in hell would anything larger fit the boat, so custom tanks......... :screwy: Crazy expensive versus what I could do otherwise. Cost is ALWAYS on my mind, but sometimes price, cost, and value are three separate things.

Moo holds 28 gallons, vs Pickles 18, Moo handles rough water far better than Pickle, Pickle is running and running fine, Moo ain't, and Moo is already carved up far from original where Pickle sits as she did when made in '76. Hence my decision to embark on this, even though Moo is 1/4 stringer.

I was NOT going to do the BBC swap Nordie is doing to make this happen. It came with a Ford, I think we can make it STAY a Ford!  Besides, it adds to the uniqueness (Or blemishes, if you prefer), of this float! Think about it! It's a Ford, already on a lot of shit lists, is running a "POS" JE pump, that has already proven itself (And is having a few things done to it as well in all this), and it's paint? You were the one that made the quote "Who the hell would paint a boat like that" when you first saw it, LMAO!

We'll get it done!

Has it always had an exhaust leak? Pretty weird........V-drive log maybe?  Dun have any BBC logs here else I'd send one to try anyways......

Ray

1746
there is a v drive front cover mount, on Ebay right now for $187.00, the pump should bolt to that with new holes drilled

this is the chit, just cost some coin  :banghead:

Both are awesome ideas! I'm kinda roping Paul into this anyway. I think I'm it on the phone tag...... ;)

The next easiest way is to throw the mechanical pump away and go Aeromotive electric  8)

LOL! That was gonna be my first recommendation.....now I KNOW why the Pickle has a Holley Electric on it! Mystery solved..... :screwy:

Does anyone have any idea how to drive this Hilborn pump on a blown BBF? This originally was cam driven on a BBC, and yes, it needs to be timed  :screwy:  I got it in my lil brain kinda how I would do it, but I want to make sure I'm not missing the obvious here........ :banghead:

Maybe TJ is the go to guy on this. Not a "team" member so, hopefully this hits the right people anyway....... >:D
