X2 on waiting on the ponies and buying the safety stuff. Says the bone head that's putting a12:1/2 to one beast together but like everyone says I'll be getting the jet a way and pop off valve next.  Good luck with you're boat & have more fun than you can stand!!!

its a bit of a drive but Rod Phillips @ Auto Dynamic Balancing in Irwindale is great. He has done a lot for us over the years.
Is he doing the new motor?

It was suppose to have all top of the line parts in it. But when it let go at last Mother's Day meet and I finally got it all apart I found that the previous owner. How can I put this? Wasn't exactly truthful!!!! But now it's gonna have all the good shit and I can put that experience behind me!!! It's gonna be nice to know that it's done right and not have be thinking about it when I mash the go peddle.

Yeah she should have some pop !!!!
Almost there just a few minor parts then off to the machinist. Looks like 110/113 will be all she's drinking. Still might consider running E85 it's just a little hard to get in my area. That scoop you made was pretty cool had me up late last night thinking of making one. I like you want something a little different than what's out there.

« on: October 31, 2014, 11:11:04 PM »

I made mine because I wanted something a little different from what every one else was running.  Plus I had this idea of an old school nitro scoop, or at  least that's what I call them.  I had no experience doing this kind of stuff (plug making) so I  just winged it with some high density foam.  I'm happy with it and that's what counts.  I wasn't trying to do something everybody would want. Here's a few shots of what I did,
I have to say that came out pretty bitchin. Great job!!!!

« on: August 07, 2014, 05:55:27 AM »
Well it only took me almost 3 months but I managed to get the motor out and tore down.
How often does the small end of a rod let go? But that's what happened. Also I think the timing chain let go haven't got the front tore down yet. When I turn the crank the cam doesn't move.
Damage list-
3 exhaust valves bent
4 roller lifters broke
1 rod let go (the small end) big end looks good no spun bearings
Cams damaged and I think the timing chain let go
Oil pick up was just dangling (the screen)
Blocks bad cracked cylinder wall
1piston
I think the crank is good just need to have it check out for straightness.
Needs-
4bolt mkIV block
1 rod
Set of pistons and rings
Bearings and new rod bolts
3 new exhaust valves
Timing chain and gears
Roller cam
4 roller lifters
Rod and main bearings
Machine work and balancing check the crank
Now oil pick up
So all in all I'm feeling pretty good about it. I thought it was going to be a lot worse.
Oh yeah gotta weld up my windows in my pan.
Photos to come soon

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Water in oil
« on: June 06, 2014, 01:05:46 AM »

Did the same exact thing with my motor.... Thought it was the headers, went dry still came back, reseated timing cover, then I got the good oil finally coming out.
All was good Until I actually got on the water. Ended up being head gaskets

The oils changes show the improvement, but was false comfort

Sent with my Fingers
Got water in my oil. I wish it was a head gasket👎👎👎

It's 13-1 compression 496 stroker cam is 11-745-9 (big)! eagle rods, callies forged crank, Jessel valve train! All the best stuff I don't build junk! I just didn't want to see him beat the bearings out of it running avgas it was set up on E85 but u can get it in havasu so I jetted it for race gas 110!
Considering you told me as long as I wasn't squeezing it av gas was fine when I picked it up from you. How would I know otherwise. What part of AS IS don't you understand. Get over it. If you didn't want to do the trade you should of said no!!! You follow me everywhere I go online. It's really getting old. I'm sure Brad won't put up with your BS here. That's not what this sites about. So really get the f*#k over it bro. And if you listen to the video you sent me before I got the boat you can hear the popping in your transition. See you there!!!!
