I had that exact same Nordic for 5 years--20'/BBC/Dominator--and really loves it because it had room for the family and "stuff", yet performed like a smaller, lighter jet boat. I traded it to boost last summer, and traded it again a couple of months ago. There is another one in Las Vegas. And can you believe that the same woman has stayed with me for 38 years. In fact the day I bought that first boat, in September 1970, was also our first date.

My wife is a RN and clinical cordinator for the burn center here in Fresno. I showed her the picture, without knowing the timing or details and she said that "the burn was 2nd degree partial thickness and it needs to be debrided (cleaned with soap and water, ouch!) The white area needs to be cleaned off, and if the tissue is pink, dressed with xeroform/bacitracin. If the tissue is white underneath, then a silver dressing would be necessary, and maybe even surgical debridement with grafting. It will take about 4 weeks to heal. If the tissue is anything but pink, it will scar. It's important to keep it clean and a dressing applied."

I don't know what doctor she went to, but it would be best to get care at a burn center. These burn wounds often require specialized care. Sorry for the delay in posting this--hope all turns out fine. If you have any questions, give me a call--I'll put in direct contact with my wife.

I used to have a boat just like this one--er, I almost didn't recognize it. It looks like you've already started to make some real improvements and I can hardly wait until you finish the job--you'll have a ride that gives you both the additional room and decent performance. I'm glad that you're happy with the trade, but a little concerned that I have a Hondo that rides far worse than the Nordic. Just kidding. Like I mentioned, come on up here to central CA, and we'll go boating together.

Lookin' good--when will you be ready to go to the lake? I know that most Sanger Jets came with the distinctive round transom cover and a short 4" or so ride plate that was braced to the transom with turnbuckles like you have suggested. Probably not as much leverage as your application, but personally, I think it would look pretty clean. Probably would need stiffeners for the ride plate.

Very nice Sanger--is it still available? We looked for a couple of years for a decent "mini", at a reasonable price (less than 8K). I'd be a buyer, but my wife told me I couldn't keep purchasing every Sanger that comes up for sale. I already have 2 cruisers and 2 flats.

Had it out on Shaver Saturday. Ran pretty good--my guess is low 50s, at 5500 ft elevation and a stock 454. Great weather and beautiful surroundings. Here are a few additional pictures of a dirty orange boat, but they'll give you the idea. Oh, I have the engine cover panels and the plexiglass wind shield sitting in the garage.
