Two for one, good odds.

Hardin marine has the new 460 great but $ 1800.00, My personal opinion unless you have all the parts necessary to produce high HP, Torque they are not necessary. I have run similar on my 351 engine honestly can't tell the difference. There are too many variables in boats to pin down one particular componet apples to apples.

On my 460 Ford I put a breather line in the pan and built a puke tank, it works well takes the motor pressure down to a minimum.

A Ford Fiests 86-88 alt is small and works well, also a alt from a Kubota.

There was a set on here for sale, long bolt great manifold  $ 500.00 and Glenwood are available for around $ 600-700 new, work well and will clear valve covers

It's 9 inches to the top of the coil, if that helps.

Thats a lot of fuel however usually smaller in front larger in rear . Keep the timing no more than 35 in the 460. all in at 2500 -3000 rpm. Withe addiives and the porclain used by each manufacture they may take longer to color. To read the plug tou look down at the base of the porclain to look for a fire ring.

What ign are you running? I would look at the plugs to be sure one isn't closed up. Again depending on ign to satisfy bigger plug gap .045 should be ok.

Skip White  on E Bay sells hei dist for 460 two wire 12 + and tach. drop in and go. Unilite would not be my choice.
you may hear those hei are junk, not so ,took all my Msd stuff off to prove a point to myself, its runs just great ,for what your doing. All for I believe $68.00 . Unless you are going to turn over 7500 then might not be practial

That is a fine looking boat, I started my racing career with the FE engine, great engines, good performance, and take hard running.

If the plugs porcelain are chocolate color it's a little rich. you read plugs down in the center of the fire ring. Reading the porcelain can be fuzzy because of the additives they put in the fuel.

Do you have 12 volts going to the dizzy when the ign is on? If not that's one problem. Got fuel in carb? If you have a hydraulic cam and lifters did you preload the right, they do 460 a little different than other engines. If you didn't it will never fire.

Yes, alot of the guys just use hi temp gasket maker

I ran in the SS nationals in Odgen in 1970. Couldn't start the motor (427) BBC. One of the Mang boy's came by and handed me some jets, I was running 80 they gave me 60 and ran. Never gave a thought of the sea level change.
