Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Sanger Engine and Other Goodies

Well, when you guys give me or buy me a bigger pan then I will run one.  So far I have never lost oil pressure.  I have a trick that I do for the front sump that is proven by a friend that has a Nordic jet and ran the same engine for 12 years with a front sump.

upon further examination it is a good possiblity that it is on backwards!  good call rod!  might explain why the timing marks are off!

I am not trying to offend you, I've only put ONE BBF together in my life, are you sure the balancer isn't on backwards? No sh!t, I put the balancer on backwards on my 460 the first time I installed it and it looked very similar to yours.   ???

Thats a good question!  Let me go check that one out really quick.

What a smart ass, I DO having a running boat, and I built the engine, with MY tools. Not just that I did all the machine work on my boat, and in my car. So until you know what the **** you are talking about, STFU. Do you know what the average 45* angle on an intake valve seat is? Do you know how much clearance to give valve stems to guides so they don't freeze? Don't fuckin think so

Lets meet up somewhere so you can keep talking like your tough!  Name the place.

I know we talked before and you said you are going on the Parker unofficial gathering trip, are you bringing your boat/this engine? What color are you going to paint the engine? I don't think the balancer is on all of the way but I could easily be wrong.

Yep this is the combo thats going.  The engine is already painted a grey/charcoal type color.  The balancer is all the way against the spacer sleeve that is all the way against the timing gear and is torqued to 90pds or so.  It does look pretty goofy in the pics but it's all the way on there.  The greatest part of the whole thing is that nothing has to be pretty because everything is covered on my boat.

I think Total Performance charges $500 for assembly of a short block. And the top end you can do all yourself

I just paid $175 for a shop to assemble a short block.

Wouldnt it be cheaper and just as easy to pull your coil wire instead of messing around with puttin in a button?  Just a thought.

I'm getting closer!  Just finished up with a cutting compound.  Only thing I need is to send the pump out to Tom and get cables.
