Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Carburetor HELP
« on: September 27, 2013, 10:57:16 PM »

I'm slightly confused on what I'm able to run for carburetors a QFT  rep said to run the 850 marine carb and that should be more than enough but I here all you 496 guys running duel 750's or 1050's so what to do.?????.

My motor a 468 is 10.2 to 1 around 680 lift and I run an 1150. JMO 850 is too small. Find a 4150 to 4500 adapter and run a 1050. It will wake that motor big time.

Just stamp the HIN #'s on some 3/4 inch by 1/8 inch aluminum. That's what I did with mine when I re gelled it.

So for$ reasons and that I don't want to change out my already new intake for a dominator flange I'm going to run with a QFT 850 marine carb so here shorty I will have a  a demon 750 for sale more questions tho do I need  to run a bigger/better fuel pump I've been running the stock one  (mechanical )

An 850 is still very small for a 496. I run an 850 on my stock 460 ford motor. Hell my 468 chevy motor eats every bit of gas that the 1150 gives it.
they make a 4150 to 4500 adapter/spacer. I would do that with a holley 1050

And our best in show and longest haul went to Justsquirtin. He came down all the way from sacramento. Doug took home 50 $ a performance boat candy detail kit and the b1 loader, also a bunch of other goodies.

First of all i have to say thank you to everybody that made this deal possible. We had a total of 89 boats not counting the pontoons.
This was a lot of fun to see my dream come together. Also really awesome to put alot of names to faces. After the great sucess this year, there will be one next year. I am hoping it will be bigger and better.

The jet boat gods would frown upon an olds in any gullwing unless its a trihull....

but arent gullwings splashed off a tri hull? BOOM!
Modified glasstron ????

sure you can stick any motor in it.  you'll just need to get a matching 26" plate mount for those stringer rails.

are you looking for a gullwing in particular?  are you looking for a weekend ski boat or are you looking to make some WOT passes at the river?  that looks like a heavy layup with the small outer stringers.  You'll need to ask if they have the layup info on the hull.  cpperformance is the goto name in regards to the gullwings, other than a short production rouse.  hence the hefty pricetag for the half rigged hull.

Not trying to be an ass but, CP Performance has nothing to do with any of the California performance hulls. Bill scotten is the man to talk to about these hulls. He has the newer Rouse mold also.

Anyone know what about this hull? The guy is telling me California performance 18' for 7k with tandem axle trailer,  hull and all that's in it. Can I put a 455 olds in this?

Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats

It really depends on what you want to use it for. If its just going to be a river cruiser or like a hot rod type boat. A CP is a great boat for sure!

thats a good deal for a CP. I wouldn't drop a 455 in it just because they don't like to go past 5000RPMs. I would put a BBC or a BBF in it for starts.

Were a week away from the First annual Southwind regatta. Super excited to see everybody!

I've got Multiple P.Ms about gas, launch, where the sandbar is ect... So ill throw this out there in a new thread.

ALL ARE WELCOME

We should have over 100 boats coming out. Yes the river rockets deal is the same day at Pirates cove.
the event is on the 21st

***Hotels***
There are Hotels in town( google hotels in blythe)
Here are a few
Roadway Inn 760-922-3334
Quality Inn 760-921-2300
Comfort suites 760-921-2626

***Race Gas& Av gas***
Parker Oil in Blythe
391 S Main St, Blythe, CA 92225
(760) 922-7600

Desert Air Service/Blythe Airport
760-992-6125

The Launch at McIntyre will be 5$ on Saturday. Its normally 10$. *** They don't Have Beer at the store there. Get it in town at albertsons or where ever***
They Have 91 octane gas

The sandbar is 3 miles north of Mcintyre on the right hand side, right before goose flats. If you don't know the river above that sand bar, i would suggest launching at mcintyre. The sandbars get a bit big and hard to navigate if you dont know them.

There will be off duty cops and firemen to keep things in check if they get out of hand
The cops are fine with loud headers and performance boats, If you do something stupid or out of line they will be on you.

Awards for best 18, Formula 1 T-deck, 19 Tunnel, 20 Cruiser, best in show and longest haul will be given out.
Cool stuff from b1 racing, socaljetboats, Robinson racing, Mcintyre mob and Mcintyre snob will be given out with the awards.
These will be given out @ 3PM

McIntyre snob is giving a 50$ gas card to the longest haul winner.
McIntyre mob has something for the worst Gel on the water ( its just for fun)

T-Shirts will be sold on saturday for 15 $$ starting @ 10 Am

There's a meet up on the 21st, you know where the drop off sand bar is outside goose flats? There's going to be like 60 boats there or something crazy like that.
Should be more than that Ben. If ya can make it out the 21st it would be cool. Lots of nice hot rods coming out.
Nice looking ride for sure.

I got mine from up22 as well. Nice pieces for sure. Re primered mine then Gelled. It was not bad for the price. It was like 150 or something like that 2 years ago.
