The challenger hull I acquired had saddle tanks that are no longer in it. I have 2 13 gallon spun tanks with straps, how would I go about mounting them. I am assuming using ss carriage bolts that are counter sunk into a 2x4 with the threads pointing up and then glassing the 2x4 to the hull?

Thanks for the info. Im not really concerned with speed Just want a nice cruiser that will keep up with my friends 20' open bow carerra with a berk jc. But most importantly i want Something that floats and moves under its own power and something that will pull a tube and the family can enjoy.

Well I have been dropping posts here and there but never really formally introduced myself so here it is. Names Corey Wilson im 22 and I live in Moreno Valley Ca (10 mi.s from lake perris and about half hour from Elsinore). I got an itch about a year ago and went on the hunt for a jet. Grew up in my grandfathers hondo (bbf/jacuzzi) and my old mans Anthony (wacker) so boats have always been in the family. Bought a basket case unknown hull that was fully rigged and hoped to save it but gave up due to hull repairs needed. But as of yesterday I think I got a hold of a solid18'6 challenger hull with jet and hope to swap what I got and have a better start twords the water. Some of the guys here have already welcomed me and been of great help and I look forward to this project and hopefully getting on the water sometime soon with you guys. Well I guess that's it.

Yah its a golden eagle. I found a charger hull on cl fo free and it has one of these pumps and basically to keep it free im gonna take the yj I have and give it to him. The hull seems sturdy and with a good buff the gel should look good. but I do believe the guy im getting it from is the boatsalavge1 guy that everyone is so fond of. If anyone is familiar with the 2 free boat add on cl its the black and blue one. Im hoping I can take what I have and put it in the hull and be closer to the water than I am now.

Well i went and looked at a solid  hull today (i cant remember challenger or charger) with a jacuzzi ge pump and was just curious as to any info on the pump? are they worth a damn, im not looking to go to fast just want something reliable ish. For the price i cant complain, just need to swap what i have over from the freakish mini day i have and be done with it.

That's the only one I got and im honestly not sure about the wood.

If you search the inland empire in ca on craigslist there is a few for around 400 range. Just search " jet boat " .  They wont show if you search for trailer. If you find one you like id be willing to check it out for you, most of em are within 20 mins from my house. Can't tell on my phone if your in ca or not.

If i understand correctly its a 396 bbc that was bored 30 over from the factory and chevy called it a 402 and i believe its a 2 bolt main if my source on the casting numbers is correct.

What are you askin for it?
