The No Wake Zone / Re: what do you think
« on: July 18, 2010, 06:03:59 PM »
Should be pretty easy to hit a bridge at that height! I can touch the bottom of the bridge at AVI with Moo. Rivertard can completely clear the Parker Bridge!!!! Saw Brad come damn close to that one as well! Much higher bridge than the AVI, and much more than double your heights of 13-15 feet........ :screwy:

i forgot no there are no brackets/mounts

Don't really remember for absolute sure on the long one, but don't think there are mounts/brackets for it. Ones I've seen bolt right through the transom. I know the lil one does, pretty sure the big one does too.

Hey Ray take the engine out of Moo and tell RJ when he's able to put it back in and get it running on his own and old enough to legally tow it to the water he can. That's what my Dad did.   Roy.

Oh but he CAN! He knows every nut and bolt in that boat!

He keeps telling me, from back east "no blower this time dad, don't need it"

From my experience with Frank though, I think both of his sons are fine, upstanding young men! Easy for us as dads to picture the worst in them sometimes....... :screwy:

35 got a late start :-[

Fock I was 45 Ralph, and my pop is STILL giving me greif over these boats from 2600 miles away!

Gonna have this same debacle with RJ real soon though. That scares the hell outta me as he's adopted the Moo boat as his......maybe I need to leave the motor out of it and install an electric trolling motor this time around!  >:D

I can prolly get Terry or Nordie to grab it, or Brad. Maybe Brad can send it with the tank straps he has for me?

Here we go with the "Ray" piles in everyones garage again..... :screwy:

Engines / Engine Parts For Sale / Ford 400 Engine F/S
« on: July 15, 2010, 04:17:14 PM »
Any interest in a 400 Long block? Was running, replaced engine in a friends truck. I'll get some pics up later when I get home. I'd suggest it needs a hone, new rings and bearings, but wasn't using any oil. Replaced because of some collapsed lifters or flat cam. Dunno which.

I think you're gonna hafta go new on this deal, Mo. Don't see many JE Diverters f/s and the few I have seen on Ebay command prices higher than I can get new from Tom at Jet Boat Performance or Jim at Cyclone Marine.

Drop Tom a line with whatcha got to get rid of, he's been known to buy parts from time to time.........

Jet Pumps / Re: Trim Indicator?
« on: July 14, 2010, 11:12:04 AM »
Sounds like you have a Berk Jet-o-vator to me. The Delco part indicates this, as they used GM power window motors to operate them.

Got 2 of 'em here, but no idea how they wire in. Could probably figure it out, but hit the sites for power window motor wiring schematics form the 70's (someone told me once it's a passenger side station wagon motor?  :screwy: ) How they work is kinda cool, though!

It's not a  "Place Diverter", though. Different animal. On the trim guage part, I would be lost to tell how it was supposed to work. My ship had two of the guages, but that's all been ripped out now. In looking at my electric Jet-o-vators though, there are 3 microswitches in each of the motor housings that I would assume would only show you full down, full up, and middle.......

I don't blame ya. A little cooler today so I finally cut down one orange tree in the backyard this morning. Now I can get a few of these boats in the backyard, Moo included, so I can get my Saguaro into the garage and get on it. Hopefully today!

Not really gonna be a hot rod, but should be a fun boat! I'm kinda aiming it at being the "family" boat, we can all use out here and we can keep it at my Unc's place in Scottsdale. (He lives a few minutes from Saguaro and Bartlett lakes). Most of Moo's current plumbing will be robbed for that build. Moo's just gonna be done different this time. 4 pt mounts, JG split bowl on her JE pump, Cav plates (It has the recesses, just wasn't rigged with them) I could go on.

I'll get with you on the hard lines, it's how it's gotta be done this time. Right now, Moo's engine is at the shop. Gonna be a couple weeks before they can get to it for pressure checking, etc. I expect the block is fine, the C9 heads I got for it will be sent out for port work, dunno where this time, Maybe Lakesonly has some free time....... (Ralph shamed me into not using the D2's on it this time around). Still not real sure what it's gonna look like at this point, but E-85 and blown/injected might well be in the mix on it! Poor lil things been a good sport about all this, gotta toss some more ponies in it..... :screwy:

The "Damn Cow Boat" isn't going away boys!
