The combo- 454, 330 hp & 'A' impeller, @ 4600 sounds about right.
The problem is weight, 2200 is very conservative for that hull. try 3000, maybe more. Mines in the 28-2900 lb range, and a few more HP, and is still in the mid 50's.
As long as the bottom of the hull is straight, I'd look into a ride plate and possibly adjustable trim tabs. My lil bowrider, a Saguaro, 325 hp, 55 @ 4600 rpm, with ~500 lbs of people + gear in it, and probably weighed 1900-2100 lbs., without people and gear.

whoever wakes up the earliest on the 4th get as much real estate at the island as possible, I think there will be quite a few of us. Tell non-socal boats that there's a Blythe official event, and that the drop is reserved or something...we should make a big sign that says "socal only" or something, we talked the other weekend about putting a permanent sign on it marking as socal island.

ps-if you're already there and you're there on the 3rd...set up your sun thingy dingies on the island now?

I guess what I am trying to say in cutting the 1/4 off in hight I will be cutting say maybe 3/4 off in length?
