« on: February 24, 2014, 05:52:10 PM »I made mine. My dad is a plumber and he got my these bitchin caps that fit perfect. Then I cut a piece of 1 inch thick aluminum bar about 6 inches long and drilled and threaded a hole to put the bolt through. Seal it with some silicone and it never leaked. Greg at GS Marine in Corona said that Nicson in the 70's used a 3 bolt flange for a few years then went with the more popular 4 bolt flanges later on... But yes, I assure you it has a 3 bolt flange as I've already taken them apart and brought them with me to the speed shop and matched up the 2-1/2" flange that fits perfectly

Found out last night that my Nicson logs have the same 3 bolt pattern as a standard 2-1/2" exh collector... So now I just have to cut off the flanges on the pipes and weld on the set that fits... Sounds easy in theory haha

Unfortunately the OT pipes on CL I found have a 4 bolt flange and my retarded Nicson logs have a 3 bolt flange so back to the drawing board

Found a guy on CL selling a set of the OT single pipes I think I'm going to try to get for now... What are everybody's thoughts about hooking up the water lines?? Is it better to go thru the engine 1st then thru the logs or the logs 1st? I'm getting mixed opinions and would like as much input as I can get. I don't really like the idea of putting hot water thru the engine and then expect it to try to cool... Everybody's 2ยข is welcomed
