The No Wake Zone / Re: Boating licence??
« on: March 03, 2017, 06:21:26 PM »
I was wrong, you have to take a course and once you pass it you can apply for the $10 license. Such horseshit. at least I don't have to do it til 2021, they can kiss my ass until then  >:D

This is what someone said on Facebook as well

Tests are under 50.00. Senate Bill 941 required DBW to establish and consult with a Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in determining the amount of fees imposed by the reasonable costs of the development, establishment and operation of the mandatory boating safety education program. So we will not know until the DWB is formed. So the card fee is not available. Sounds to me like building 200,000 homes and the only way in and out is a 2 lane highway.

I haven't done much looking into it, but on the boating license website, it didn't say anything about test prices, just the license price. It would $10 for a license and $5 for a replacement one if lost.

Yea, I had to go into town and clean the boat, it was trashed after the haul on Friday night. I think we ran into you at Roadrunner that morning as well. Hope to see ya out there again.

With virtually all of the lakes nearing capacity, where are you all headed?

We plan to hit Shasta, at least twice, maybe San Antonio if it keeps filling, Nacemiento for sure, have some friends wanting to go to Shaver.

So pumped.

What's your dream destination?

I went to San Antonio about 10 years ago and I had a blast there. Ive always wanted to go back but there hasn't been any water. If it keeps filling, I definitely want to make out there this year.

Sorry about the delay of response about this. Its been a really busy past few weeks.

I was trying to convert the site over to using HTTPS and I just havent had time to work on it so I reverted it back.

Up in the address bar, make sure it doesnt show https://www.socaljetboats.com (it should show http://www.socaljetboats.com)

Let me know if that resolves any of the issues you are experiencing with new posts and/or attachments.

Better now. I wasn't able to post pics before, it works now.

GT is correct! have you ever pulled a motor apart that used penzoil youd never use that oil again . it looks like tar!!!

Ya know, Ive always taken GTs advice....... I guess Ive never asked him about oil  :banghead: And not to say I don't believe what you are saying, but when I usually drain it, its pretty clean still and last time the valve covers were off it was super clean inside. Now mind you, its a cruiser that spends its life around 3800 rpm and its only got 130 hours on it since 2004 lol.  I have no problem making a switch though. Just stuck with it out of habit since Indmar told me to run it. Thank for the advice though, both of you.

Chad Reed has always been my guy!!! I know he cant keep up with these youngins anymore but I still root for him lol. As far as the youngsters go, I root for Tomac. Roczn is so damn fast though, the kid is ridiculous.

On the older boat we run the Vr-1 (20w-50) and the cheapest retail place I find it is O'reilly, they always have it on sale for $4.99 a quart. That's cheaper than most places if you need it right away. And on the newer boat, Indmar suggests Pennzoil Marine 15w30 so, I just stick to that and I always get it from Amazon. They usually have a 2 gallon deal for like $44. Free shipping.

Just saw on the news that California went from being 92% of the state being in severe drought in 2016, to 40% of the state is completely out of the drought in just the past month. That's good news for the entire state obviously, but that some pretty exciting news for all the NorCal and central Cali guys that cant make it to the River as often  and for some of the So Cal guys that just wanna shoot over to the local pond for the day

I second that
