I'm not a quitter. My list is longer than my time I have. I have to be in Escondido first thing in the morning for work and I don't know how long that will take then basically come home and leave. She just isn't ready. I'm not going to rush this time just to make it. Still need to fix the bow hook and trailer on top of the boat. Plus an oil change, run, then oil change to good stuff before it is ready. Big Bend she will be good to go. I'll still be out, just on Johnny's boat.

Little bit closer to being ready for this weekend. Cut, bent, and welded the tow bar to straighten it back up, not perfect but 100 times better. Made up a fuel pump block off plate since the local shop didn't have one. Messed with the plug wires some more. Hooked up the fuel line and throttle linkage. And a handful of various other stuff. Should be firing her tomorrow for sure. As well as fix the bow hook and tweak the trailer and fender to get it back on. Thursday is coming up fast. I need to do an oil change too, yay.

So I'm going to loosen them, tighten until the pushrod stops spinning, then tighten another 1/2-3/4 turn. That's how I would do a normal adjustable rocker on a hydraulic flat tappet cam set up.

Forgive me....I must've missed it....what happened to engine?

Accident didn't do really anything to the boat besides ripping the boat hook out (which we have a plan to fix that). I had a weird temperature is sure on the passenger side. Pulled the valve covers Friday afternoon and noticed a tiny bit of milky oil. Called the parts shop and ordered a gasket set, pulled the intake and heads. Everything looked good. Could easily take another. 030" out of the cylinders if I was going to keep it. Heads look great. Valves and valve springs. So I pulled the freeze plugs and cleaned all the shit out of the engine. She's back together with all new gaskets. Getting new plug wires and going to set the timing and haul ass to the regatta next weekend.

I had them I'm the same order that I pulled them out but one side got mixed up so they aren't going in how they came out. I'm assuming they get adjusted the same as an adjustable roller rocker but want to make sure I do it right.  Is there a specific way to adjust them?

Carb issue with 2 new 600s on a tunnel ram? There was literally a shit ton of sand in the block. It took like 10 minutes to flush both sides of the block with the freeze plugs out and running hose to water through the front of the engine.

It's opened up to allow flow. I will compare to the new one when I get them in a little.

I don't see how that is how it works on this engine. From the block the water can come up into the heads starting right at the front of the block. The coolant passages line up from block to head all the way across the cylinders. Why would it need to go all the way to the back to enter the heads?

Can I drill and tap the back coolant ports on my manifold and either return them to the thermostat housing or just dump them out the back? Seems like it would help with cooling of the back cylinders.
