Could not wait to wet sand, buff, polish and wax so I did, Just the top so far, Pics don't look as good as the job came out. Could not get rid or cover up all the sun damage on the hood but the rest of the boat looks a lot better then it did, After this season of working out the bug's and building up the pump I like to repaint the top/hood this winter. I'm not going to sweat over the cosmetics until i have the mechanics 100%.

Double the work, Double the cost, Double the pain, Double the gas bill. Well I'm going to drop the bomb of information here that no one wants to hear, YOU NEED BOTH!!!, A set of good, most the time expensive tools  for the shop/garage to handle the tougher jobs like old rusted bolts and a 6 point snap-on socket, But if I'm tightening up the same size bolt at the end of the dock over water I'm not taking my shop tools, Like others said same goes for truck tools, camp tools, That can be easily stolen. I have tools that I won't take out of this garage and I have my cheap stuff that has never been in my garage.
       Gave the ol'lady a decent self contained Craftsman set cause I know she will not need more and she will not lose any and that keeps her out of my tool chest's. If some one asked to borrow something I'd rather lend them a H.F then my Snap-On's. The right tool for the right job is more complicated then most think.      Roy.

Its hard to tell.. Is the whole boat the same color as the inside of the transom? now THATS metal flake! Love it! Projects lookin good, you have alot more patience than Ill ever have, thats for sure.  

   Yeah it's Metal flake all over, Hard to tell since it needs wet sanded badly but it shines and glitters and I can't wait to sand and buff it out should be a huge improvement that happens this week.

And you all know I HAD to do a test patch to see how it would look the first day I started on it. You can see it right beside the tow hook, just a little rubbed out patch, It's Silver color with Heavy Silver Metal Flake and with a little hint of red and black smaller flake mixed in, I Can't wait to do the whole boat, I'm like a kid before X-mas

Update: Been Grinding, pealing and sanding for 2 day's, Another day of it and it's ready for a wash down and glueing in sticks, I took all the support fiberglass that was holding down the stringers and other wood completely off because it was starting to lift, blister and peal off on it's own, I could of epoxied it back down but I figure when I hit some choppy water or cranking it up to speed I rather be confident then worried about it staying together.

Eh, I'm not surprised when bad boyz are bad and good girls get mad, What I wonder is how good she is? There's been words about his drug use, Wonder about hers? Wonder what they do how often? She's a very Pretty and great actress and he's a cool good mechanic, The older he gets the less cool he'll be and there's tons of good mechanic so I think he will flame out then only heard about when he breaks the law, She will be heard from and keep her fame forever I believe, The inked out side slut, who cares this is her peak of fame, I'm just saying.

We can't get there from here, Yet. We usually don't do driving/trailering trips, I Own my own place on the Allegheny River In the First Natural pool, It's great, Jet boat, jet ski, small boat accessible but Not anything that can't do a 200 foot stretch of 2 foot deep water, Keeps the traffic low and privacy high and I'm way into that. Problem is no winter access, Even when there is it's not good boating so we just wait till it thaws then Play hard.We should be able to drive there this week or next, My driveway is still iced over..    "Yenz No" I grew up a few miles from "The Point" In "The Burgh" where the "Al" and The "Mon" make The "O" and that". That  would Be Pittsburgheise for Living Near Pittsburgh where the Allegheny River and the Monongahela  River Meet to make the Ohio.. Grew up boating in all 3 rivers, Fished for carp and catfish where the Heinz Ketchup Plant use to dump there bi-products in the "Al" We use to turn around and peddle our bikes home if we got close and smell Vinegar, The fish would be gone until they changed there dumping to something more desirable.

    Me and a lovely lady once had a few hundred people applauding us when one person noticed and told on us having sex in the water where the Al and The Mon meet at the point, mid day, wearing ski jackets only bobbing behind my boat in between breaks in the shows at the Pittsburgh Regatta, about 50 feet from shore..lol..true story, was not planned, just happened.

    At the same "Point State Park" I also once landed a parachute for a demonstration skydive for Veterans day Parade, And No I'm not a Veteran just use to skydive a lot, A little over 2,000 jumps actually. One of the most scariest landing area I ever had, Land in a 50 foot area or on people or in the river that my buddies dad died in doing the exact same jump a few years earlier, Pretty trippy. Cruising over the Burgh under canopy I will remember for the rest of my life tho, Super cool.

A buddy lost his V-drive small block Chebby "Mighty Mouse" 300 yards down the Ohio from The Point, He and the Chic He just picked up (And Met) off The point where O.K but he made us drag anchors threw that area the rest of that year when we float and party..lol.

Oh I can go on and on with Burgh Stories..lol..  Blue Skies!!

Thanks for all the thumbs up, Grinding it out was a pain but I figure the worse part is over Cause the fun is putting it back together and building it up, While thats what I keep telling myself..lol.

I should of asked my question better, I know this boat like all boats flex, If not it would be to brittle and crack at the weakest point , What I'm asking is does anyone think I need to block/ support any where from underneath supporting the stake/ chine or hull ? Or is just hanging it from the 3 point is enough? to hold it's proper shape? I left the front part of the floor from under the dash forward in tack and I believe that also is helping a lot with holding it's form, I'm probably worrying to much and just need to finish prepping and start sticking boards  .. Project is the word, Start off with Thanks, People from this site already saved me a couple mistakes, Had a couple pieces of pressure treated lumber cut out and the boat was sitting on the trailer as i was replacing the floor, stringers and the side storage area divider's. Now It's all kiln dried fir and hanging on 3 points, Again Thanks for that information.

      I Don't believe I have any hull flex going on for a few different reasons, Seems very stiff with it being kinda of a mod V with the step tec it has, When i cut the floor and stringers out there was no noticeable flex but the floor was rotted and the stringers soaked with rot on edges (pic's attached) and around engine mount holes, And i ran a straight edge and trying to see any buckles/ bows uneven crap and it looks alright to me? Very stiff, I have worked on other boats that are way weaker as in flexing, But i want more info on what to look for before i start epoxying in wood with West Marine Epoxy and the proper filler and hardeners (again thanks for that info) Question is. Is there any way I can check for sure this thing is straight enough to start sticking it together, OH Yeah, Another thing, I lengthened the stringers 5 inches to add room for any wider pulley I may want to incorporate down the road. . But again this thing seems very stiff, When it was on the trailer yes it did seem like it could of slightly moves in on the side's, but when it's hanging it seems fine? Need more information/input to make me more confident tho? Any Idea's? Opinions?
 
 
OBTW, 454 that is at the machine shop engine builder. Berkeley 12JE with need of a diverter as soon as i get it in the water.
