Last year I got into boats in July. I have never been in rough water, like a storm etc., There are not a lot of jets out here in Colorado. The spring storms are wicked. It goes from party cloudy to high winds and monsoon rains in literally 15min. 30min later it's partly cloudy again. How do keep from sinking? How do you beach it safly. Are coves with high cliffs safe? What to do if I cannot get the boat on the trailer? Ohh Did I mention serious lightining? How to secure it to shore?

Yepper!!  Forged is the way to go. It has more forgiveness for opps that happen. Prop out of the water etc. I'd base the cyl head on the rest of the combo. The heads and have to work together.  450hp on pump gas is an easy figure to hit. Put a small 175hp nos system on it and waaahoooo!!!

I sold just the roller. I THINK I can resist putting this motor in the boat,mmmm yep.  put 50 plus runs on the motor with no problems.
Kelly's plannig on puting a BBC with  14-71 good heads etc. 6's are in the cars future again.

If ya stop by a major book store they often have a book with proven combos from biuld ups in hot rad , and car araft mags. It's all about air flow, and the parts combo. My o2 on hyperutectic picstons is about the same as my opinion on powdered metal rods. Fine for daily driver...NOTHING else. Ya load a motor with bad gas, have the timing off a little, ya got problems. The rods they don't bend or stretch. Forged rods do. then the motor makes a funny niose, shut it down , few hundred $ latter you're back on the water. Powdered rode break then band saw block and cam , and usually the heads.

Cause just being rebuilt it's fresh.    The fear of retribution kept me honest.

I would just rebiuld yer existing carbs. Blow out all passages. Ignition timing under load car make a huge differance. Spacers, air cleaners,etc. Have them dyno it with the air filtration system that you are going to use. AA/Fuel Altereds, AA/Fuel Dragters, AA/Paul. Ive never waivered fromthe nostalga stuff for 20 yrs. Even in high school I was all retro cars and bikes. @ many to list.. 10 plus cars older than 1970, 11 plus choppers and bikes older than 1977.

It's under auto parts/tunnel ram The one sold last night single top for 350. The other is painted red ,single top with a buy it now of 300.  I just buy it nowed a bouble top polished, for olds for 325.
 there have not been any on there for awhile.
