well finally got some more stuff done to the boat and some stuff prepped to be installed.  Got the swimstep restained and sealed.  got the trailer painted, got new plug wires in (since two of the other ones were busted), got the tunnel ram/demoncarb/scoop all assembled and ready to install.  Here are a few pics of the recent changes.

yeah you should be good with a 3 farad cap.  two 15's in a closed bow is going to be ridiculously loud.   :o

If you dont already have one, keep in mind that you will want to get another amp to run your 6x9's and 6.5's.  Otherwise it will be all bass and no audio.  I would definatly run cap's for all 3 amps too.

Well her maiden voyage on sunday to elsinore went good.  It ran great for 3/4 of the day then one of my plug wires busted so i was dead in the water.  Thankfully i was able to get a tow back in unfortunately the guy who towed me let his wife drive and I guess when your husband is standing on the swim platform its NOT a good idea to gas it really fast...lost a blackberry cell phone and a pair of $100 spy sunglasses....chitty.  Got her home replaced the plug wires with the MSD Super conductor 8.5mm plug wires and she runs titties again.  Got the trailer painted black now so it doesnt look like its poo brown

there is no wedge and all the adjustments seem fine.  When its all the way up it doesnt shoot up a roost at all.  It is being stopped by the pump itself.  as seen in this pic.  the first pic is all the way down the second is all the way up.  As you can see all the way up is stopped by the pump on the top.

is the diverter capable of shooting up a roost?  I have a diverter right now but it cant shoot roosts.

Trailers / trailer paint
« on: April 04, 2009, 09:41:39 PM »
I am planning on painting the trailer black since right now it is chit brown.  I am planning on using an oil based rustoleum product.  You guys think that will last through a couple season's in the water?  Last trailer I rattle canned and that didnt work for too long.  3 trips later i got rust and chipping paint, even after a good sanding.

Got it up to boost's place today and got her all dialed in.  Thanks to boost and dave at fuelcurvewest the carb is rebuilt and running strong.  Also picked up boost's tunnel ram and his demon carb from him.  Gonna run the current set up for a few runs then switch over to the tunnel and new carb (which was also dialed in by dave at fuel curve west).  Found out a little more about the motor today too.  Full MSD ignition system, dove c heads on it, harman marine headers, a mild cam, roller rockers and some mild head work done to it....Stoked to hear good news.

So after getting a few quotes of 3-5k for gel coat, I am wondering if anyone here paints boats or knows of anywhere that is reasonably priced for getting the boat painted?  I just need something that will last a couple years.  Thanks

I just got the boat last night and got some more info.  It has a berk jet 12jc a (which hopefully is a good jet).  Ran the motor for a few today and it seems a little hesitant on the gas.  I gave it a little and it took a second or two to catch up.  Going to get a new fuel pump, carb and scoop for it.  The spark arrestor thats on it is a little beat up.  aside from that it doesnt seem like a bad float.  Here are a few more pics i snapped today.
