Check out this site

I like the straight snoot they designed and will put this on my Rogers this winter when I do a complete rebuild.

Jet Pumps / Re: Loader Grate

I don't believe that you will gain 5-7 mph. I have used a loader in a 21 ft Eliminator closed bow running about 550hp. Currently have one on my Rogers running about 750hp and it does make a difference. Tried one on my 21ft Cobra and it made ZERO difference. Big heavy boat. I think the lighter the boat the bigger the difference you will notice. I also like that it pulls the jet down keeping you hooked up. Make sure you get the one that is rated for your application. Also $200 is high. I've seen several for $150.

Jet Pumps / Re: Building a high performance jet pump

Nothing wrong with pump except I don't know what's in it. The only thing I did to pump was to install a supersport style loader I had.

I want to acheive maximum performance. The quicker the ride the more fun.

No shoe or ride plate. I do have a supersport style loader. No way to gauge speed in MPH. Feels like low 80's based on past experience. This is a 17' Rogers.

Projects / Jet pump set up in 74 Rogers

I understand old school engines like we have in our jet boats. What I'm trying to learn is all about high performance jets. My current engine set up is as follows:
Chevy 468 4-bolt, forged crank, GM heavy duty 7/16 rods
JE Flat Top Pistons & Rings (close to 8-1) Spec'd to Bob Teague's recommendations
Iron square port heads with ports cleaned up (To be replaced with AFR CNC ported heads when money allows) Teague Roller Rockers that fit under stock size valve covers
Edelbrock Victor Jr Intake port matched by me (What fun that was) Aluminum is a pain.
Comp cams 11-568-4  Lift .575 .595 113 degrees lobe seperation. Springs to match (Stayed Hydraulic Flat Tappet) Comp cams Pro Magnum Lifters. Manley push rods
M-3 Pro Charger with intercoller running 9 psi. QFT blow through 750cfm carb. Fuel system set up for this application. MSD ignition.

Engine runs strong to 5800 rpm with the pump that came with the boat. The tag on the pump is worn so I'm not sure which pump I have. It's a polished style with an extension after the bowl that is a foot long with a wedge in place. The bowl goes right up to the transom. I do have hand control to raise and lower jet. I've been taught to position the jet with the water just above water level at full power.

I have heard good things about Cyclone Marine in the SF valley and will go talk to them at some point, but I want to know everything in detail before I do. I'm in Valencia. I'm open to advice on pumps and the set up to acheive maximum push.

Thanks
