Still didn't hear much in that motor, other than it leaning out pretty bad, even with my face pressed up against it. Some rattling, But A) I half deaf, and B) Chebbies are a lil foreign for me! Even though I gots one.

OK, So by now everyone knows my lil Moo lost all oil pressure right after launching on Saturday. I had to beleive a bad guage or sender, so I took a couple quick blasts and some mild rattling (Lifters and piston slap probably), so she was beached and pulled out immediately.
So, at home, I pull the motor last night, and curiousity got the best of me so I drop the pan.....everything is where it's supposed to be. Pickup tube is fine. (Theory #3 failed). Pulled the pump, shaft is ok (Theory #1 failed). pulled the pump apart, it's fine (theory #4 failed). Pulled the dizzy, nope, its not sheared or stripped where it engages the shaft either (Theory #3 shot down).
It's not a bad guage or sender, it was NOT pumping oil as the hoses to the remote filter dealio were bone dry when I pulled them loose. Everything appears normal in there, just as I had built it. No noticeable play in the rods, no trash in the pan and the oil looked very clean coming out. gonnna do the coffee filter thing on some of the oil here a lil later.

That you did my brother! Actually, it did run pretty good all day Sunday, Brad wouldn't get back in it, though, lol. I think the "rainbird" intake gasket leak and milky oil coming out the breathers worried him. "It's an Olds, that ain't nothin" I said. Still ran all day!!
Skip did end up towing it back in Sunday night tho. I blame that one on Rivertard who made me stop for a "Personal" emergency and I managed to flood it and drain the battery......
So 3 tows total, I think, unless I'm missing one here somewhere. Little YJ pump impressed me though!

Take a tape with you to Sag or Pleasant next time out. Plenty of them to measure from, and most wont mind. Pick one you like and go from there. 
I'm also sure the guys here won't mind putting a tape and some pics together of their rigs. If Overtons, Complete Marine or West Marine don't have what you want, Then hit the guy up in Tempe. Still gotta get you that guys info huh?

I need sleep! lol! But I got a motor to pull... Dunno what to tell ya. One of mine has the same setup, and really isn't any quieter than baffled headers. I remember Crewcheif telling me to try and pull the baffles out of the pipes once. Says they're louder than open headers. Could be, dunno.
Sounds like OE equipment, Same law applies here, but noone enforces it. I think I would try and fight it maybe???

Also make sure you're running water through the headers when they test it. At idle, typically, there should be no water. If running a driver mounted valve, open it up some for the test
If just the Basset T valve, shouldn't have water at all til around 1500 RPM, but you can open up the gate or ball valve on the outlet to the engine from the pump. If the pumps fresh or good, it'll open that valve all the time usually. Worth a shot.
I don't think you're gonna get to 89 Db with O/T headers at all though. Possibly with some of the Borla style mufflers out there, I dunno.

Just got back and all unloaded, boat delivered! (I Owe you a ton Flytime! Thank you for all your efforts on the Charger!)
Great time guys! Even though I broke Moo! We did have a lot of hardware go down,
You guys shoulda used Ralphs siphoning skills, Moo had 2 nearly full tanks of AVgas.............('course, I didn't check, maybe someone did!
Left my Camera in Moo, so I got no pictures AT ALL!

Best place is Big River this weekend!
Blythe, Mcintyre Park in particular, is nice, and not so far from you since you're on the West Side already. I was pretty impressed with the place, and didn't see many rock bars at all. Peeps are the best too! I hear great things about the martinez area as well (Yuma).
Seriously, though, drag the thing to Big River this weekend! Plenty of us out there to follow. Just bring a good box anchor or a big block cylinder head to tie off with. Waters pretty swift there.

All of my bots had a rudder on them before I put on Place Diverters. I'm considering buying rudders for the PD units, only because the biggest thing I've noticed is lack of control I once had docking or loading. Just me, but at low speed, the only way to control a jets direction is with the throttle. if it's "coasting" near to NO control.
