Boats For Sale / Re: Craigslist & ebay boats
« on: June 10, 2010, 10:59:20 AM »
Ray that's the perfect boat for that Poncho project we were talking about.  Heck that boat isn't a tenth the project the shrimpin' boat is gonna be.   ;D

You guys are like having an AA meeting at the Coor's plant..... ;)

Shrimpin boat is progessing nicely, albeit slowwwwwwwly, but these guys do nice work! Ask me a million questions every 5 minutes when they're here though.........

Todays the "Clean out and organize the garage since Moo's outside" day so I can organize the 12 million parts from that deal. Gotta ship parts from the auction this afternoon, did find boxes for them, Let alone I got the Saguaro's engine coming from Skip at BR, so I need to get THAT one in here pronto. Shouldn't be a bad build on that thing. Month or so maybe, then I think we're giving that one to my Unc so my Aunt gets off his ass about buying another boat. He's the one that had the badass Biesemeyer years ago, and Aunt has never forgiven him for selling it.

I got no problem buying that thing. And storing it, really I can make it fit, But what are we gonna DO with it? I kinda like John's idea on a solid 455 Pontiac powering the thing, lol.

did you see the name of it? "Get Pickled"

Yeah I did!! Actually not a bad looking sled either, bit pricey for what it is though.

But Damn you Brad! Now you got me thinking on that Southwind........I got this empty trailer sitting here and.......

Ugggghhh!  :banghead:

WTB / Re: Ford 460 blower
« on: June 10, 2010, 10:17:46 AM »
It wasn't so much the cost of the blower equipment for the Ford that worried me when I looked into doing it, it was the ignition issues. An offset or tiny dizzy/mag or crank trigger system seems to be required to make it work.

If I did it, I was going to do two of them in the Shrimpin Boat project, so double that cost.

Let us know what you find out.

So, not to clog up the system, and since, as we all KNOW, ALL BOATS ARE CONTINUING PROJECTS!  :screwy:

This is Moo's latest addition. Transferred her officially from a Cali Boat to an Arizona girl, and when I did, boy the surprise at the Fish and Game......I waited til now to really let it out, though some of you already know.......I had her new Registration painted on by the same guy that did the Udder Nonsense on it last year. Again, freehand, and I think everyone thought I was kidding about the reg numbers...... ;D

have you ever rode anything on 2 wheels besides your pit bike?

Lol! I think we've all tried to be that good. I remember a friend of mine and I riding wheelies through downtown Oil City, Pa (He was from there), with his XR600 and me with my KZ1000LTD. We were pretty proud of ourselves we made about 1/4 mile, we crossed a bridge and hit a red light and had to drop. Then we realized there was a cop behind us with the lights a goin'......

THIS wasn't pretty......... :banghead:

Hats off to these demons that can do this chit!

Absolutely badass Nordie! Tons of talent, but maybe a traffic infraction or two...... :screwy:

Glasscutter and I may be the only ones to remember Doug Domokos though. He was doing similar stunts WAY back in the late 70's, early 80's....

Here's him wheelieing an MX course in '79 I think.

Couldn't find the video, but I remember Motorcyclist magazine's coverage of him Wheelieing a, then new, Kawasaki KZ1300 around Sonoma.

Ray

Correction, DID find a practice video of the stunt with the 6 cyl, Kaw.

« on: June 08, 2010, 07:20:44 PM »
right now just non detergent 30 weight with zink to break in the cam. it is gettin changed on friday. what should i use. i think it is still too early to go to synthetic

I've run Synthetic in Moo since the engine was installed after the bench cam break in. Just changed out Pickle to the same stuff Moo's running, but I dun think you wanna run $125 a case Joe Gibbs stuff, do you? (worth it, IMO if you want to).

Solid, flat tappet cam, I'd be running what I am, else be adding zinc additive every time, and more frequent oil changes. Just me, I'm kinda new to these boats, but when I changed out the intake gaskets back in March, everything looked like new in there!

I Know the feeling Pat! Been out many times, but Moo's kinda been shunned. I think she needs to come to this deal. Getting her out tonight so the new reg numbers can be painted on tomorrow. (Those are gonna get me on a first name basis with the lake popo!)

Most of me agrees with you guys, flip it back over and let it RIP.  History of that thing has to be a good story, though.

Part of me still agrees with Pat and Terry, snag it and see what can be done! Christ, I think Riverroy has done almost the same thing on his that would be required, short the transom. Be kinda like rebuilding the Titanic.

I hafta wonder, years from now, when Stewart Dam needs redone (it's comin, it's old) and they pretty much drain Saguaro lake, what people will think of Cave and my's Biesemeyers that'll turn up? And lord knows what else is down there.........

Last season it was $18.00 for entry and ramp fees.  Well worth it for entry into the ("unofficial") SCJB event of the year  ;D

For some reason, I don't remember the park fees being that much.... :screwy:

I had $7 in my brain, but still $18 isn't bad. Musta been $7 at ANOTHER unofficial event, yada, yada, yada....
