I guess the guy said he got hit, trailer came detached, went up the embankment on the side of the freeway, back down and then hit the center divider and that's when the boat came off the trailer. So, it was tied down and everything. And apparently, the car that hit him fled scene. Shitty deal for sure.

From what others have told me and from what I have read, its closed to all motorized boats on sundays and Monday during the summer months between memorial day and labor day. Ive heard there is a rope that stops you from actually seeing the damn, some people said they have still driven up to the floating barriers with no problems. As far as dangers go, I haven't heard or seen anything, doesn't appear to be any big sand bars on the map. I hear the water is pretty cold up that way but its refreshing when its 110* out. I will post pics and let you know how it goes. The plan is to go that way, but, plans always change.

Anyone else going to be up in this area this weekend??? We will have 2 boats up there. Probably going to do Jack Smith to topock on Friday and then probably Willow Beach to Hoover Dam on Saturday, check the hot springs. Hit us up if you're out that way. We will be in these 2 boats.

Got this sand rail project from a guy that owed me some money. He gave me a bill of sale but that's all. It's pretty complete, I was going to drop the engine from my bug in it but...... I need the money right now for other stuff that came up. I'll part it out or sell it whole. I'd like 500 bucks, but, make me an offer. It's got a swing axle trans in it. Turning brake levers. With the ball valve wide open, when I let it idle AFTER a good ten minute run, it will sometimes go up to 125 or so, but when im cruising, it is always down around 100.......... my gauge doesn't read lower than 100 so it could be even lower. It makes me a little uncomfortable but was afraid to mess with it, like you said, don't like to fix things that aren't broken. Im the second owner and its always been fine........ just goes against what ive always liked to run my temp at.

Mine runs cool too, just too cool in my opinion. So ill probably switch it out for a gate, or play with the ball valve a little more to see if I can get it to run where I want. its just seems harder to fine tune the ball valve just right.

Replace the ball valve with a gate valve and adjust it so it idles at about 150° or so. It will cool off a little at anything above an idle, but might be better.

Manifolds with risers and hoses. It seems to work fine, but it does run very cool, cooler than I would like. The owner of Shockwave told me to leave it wide open, that's what he tells all of his jet drive customers and he says he has not had any complaints. It just runs very cool and its not as easy to adjust, if I close it about 25% it runs really warm at idle, but really good while cruising (around 160). So with that being said, ive just left it wide open.
