To bad the winter days are so short. tried a couple of times to make it around the cove to talk/meet everyone but wouldn't make it to far. Great time, good to see everybody in January...looking forward to this 2009 season at the river!

same as last year...windy as fock and cold as all hell....still had over 40 boats show up....this is a memorial...not a nice day on the lake...some people are losin site of the cause for this event. id be there if i could.

I feel the same way Brad. I'm rolling out from Ventura, (easy 2 1/2 hr drive) where it was sunny 75* no wind...beautiful day. A little wind...this is about somthing more than just a day on the lake.
I'm all in. Curious to see where the day takes me...rolling solo!

I was working at the Santa Barbara Airport last week. You could see flames and alot of red/orange glowing from the freeway. Real trippy weather for November I think.
God damn firefighters trying to keep their house from foreclosing! j/k Keep up the good work! >:D

Make sure the carb is boost referenced . I dont think they came referenced origanally . No I dont have my turbos anymore . I dont remember that motor needing 100 octane either unless something has changed  ???

-beerjet-
The carb is boost referenced. The boost used to only go up to 7-8lbs. Now its jumped all the way up to 15-18lbs and I need the race gas in her. I dont know what happened. Hasn't really ran all that great since I took it over and no body seems to know why the boost would jump that high. Ive checked all bypass holes, replaces all turbo hoses with the right ones. :-\ I've checked just everything that I can check without tearing it down completly. Going to tear the turbos apart and maybe a complete teardown of the motor as well this winter.

Congradulations, 83.4 is great for a first couple runs on good water.

thanks but the motor still feels like it has alot more in it. Might be a turbo issue.

The verdict is in. My boat ran 83.4mph. :'( Thats with 30 gallons of 100 octane and just myself in the boat.
Made two passes. Then the motor started to sound a little funny so I was pressed for time. I'll take a look at it later.
Looking forward to trying it again!
Hey Omar- Do you still have your turbos?

85  ??? really  ??? Your in for a big surprise . At least one of us will be . Just hang the fuk on and get a good jacket or better yet , barrow someones lifeline  :-\ Be safe N8 !

-beerjet-
I say 85 because I dont really know how the boat is going to handle at that speed. It seems like it rides pretty dry. Everytime I've stepped on it the water conditions were not optimum for fast passes. You know what I had before...I'd be lying if I said I wont be a little scared on Sunday. I saw a boat flip over at Lost Lake which left a big impression on me...do I really want to go this fast?
Don't worry I'll let my balls drop so that I can finally put some numbers on this thing! :o

Rolling out to Casitas on Sunday. Bringing the gps and camera to finally establish a base line for this boat. Im hoping for 85+ and that would make me happy. I will take some pics of the cable, lock, and tamper proof clip for all to see.
Wish me luck!

SoCal Lakes / Going back to Lake Casitas!!!
« on: October 31, 2008, 09:02:27 AM »
The boat Passed Inspection!!!! No more spending an arm and a leg to drive to Lake Piru for crappy chopped up water! It was costing me pretty much $100bucks depending if I needed gas in the truck to drive an hour and a half to Lake Piru for test and tune. Not anymore. Now its back to driving 4 miles from my driveway to the front gate at Casitas. I've been waiting for summer to be over so that I can do this.
The inspection: Pretty simple. The ranger is a cool old timer. He said he loves inspecting jet boats because he doesnt have to hop up in or stick his head down any wierd engine compartments. He basically walked around, checked the bilge and what not for any water. I filled out some basic paperwork, then he put on the cable and lock (which are mine now) with a tamper proof clip (which is theres). He said that rangers have caught people tampering with the clip. Going so far as to cut the cable and use shrink wrap to put it back together. It was $50bucks for the inspection and lock and key. Now I'm waiting out the 10 day quarintine till I can use the lake. Since its coming into winter time, I dont think I will be tampering with this system. If caught your done at Casitas!
Looking forward to getting out there and spending some real time (not rushed) on smooth water to get this boat dialed in for next season.... Becuase there is this guy Jermey with a '78Cole with a BBF who just needs to be spanked real bad by a Chevy guy!!!j/k ;)

Sorry we're not going to make this one. We're going back out to the river. Glassy water all day long there!
Hope all you guys have a great weakend. I've always loved that lake. Boat always seemed a little bit faster there for some reason.
If you see a blown blue Eliminator Spint watch out. He likes to run you in front of his camp. So they can watch him saw people off. Didn't happen when he ran me though...sucker!
Smoked his ass twice! Mention it to him if anybody talks to him. I'm sure sometime in September we'll back up there...just to look for him again!

Tom-  We wish Rhonda the best and all the strength to battle the demons!
Dozzr- Happy early Sober birthday! And its about time you came over to the chevy side! I think you will be much happier with how much abuse these motors can dish out, and for you thats exactly what you need! :o
Take care of one another.
