I think this thread just jinxed me.. I woke up this morning with 3 inches of snow and its still coming. Im pretty low elevation, so nobody was expecting it. So much for rebuilding the boat seat today! Im sure Ill get bored since Im not working today and go snap some shots of the lake for you SoCal'ers to be happy about the heat.  :-\

Thanks!! Last week really got me excited for boating to start up.. but today made me remember where I live. I was working right next to Shaver Lake today and got snowed on ALL day. Coming back home I passed Bass Lake and saw it snowed there a little too. It'll be awhile before I make my first trip.

Would the 18-8 Stainless work or do I have to go to the 316  stainless?

Its not a tall deck. Just a BBC with edelbroke intake. I have the thicker gaskets, but they dont make that big of a difference.

Yah, if you go to the pines bar or upstairs Duceys theres a ton of pictures from the making of the movie. My aunt was an extra in the bar scene in the movie. Tons of cool old info all around the lake, at almost every store and restaurant. Its my back yard, so Im there pretty much every day!

Anyone else have any trailers? Figure jacking this dead thread was better than taking space up to make another one! I need a tandem for my boat!

Outboards / Outboard Parts
« on: March 26, 2010, 10:46:58 PM »
I need to know where the best place to get good prices for outboard parts is.. I have a 2 stroker 115 horse on the back of the party barge and last season we had to replace the charging system on it. Well, ofcourse I killed it first trip out by running the boat with the key in the half off but still running position to get rid of the annoying overheating alarm (no, it wasnt overheating, just a sensor issue) and now I need to buy ANOTHER one. I figure I can find parts alot cheaper online then locally though.

The rock is the brand new version of the boulder. My boulder finally died and it was time for my 2 year upgrade. Honestly, I like the Boulder better. You need a battery and charger?

Random Boat Parts For Sale / BBC Motor Plates
« on: March 23, 2010, 08:52:47 AM »
Hey, Selling some BBC plates. Front and Rear. Im not 100 percent sure what they came off of, they were in my boat when I bought it. I had ironman build me everything I needed, so these need to go. Chrome is in decent shape. Not show worthy, but they'll hold your motor in! Asking $100 plus shipping. I can take more pictures or measurements if anyones interested.

If you want to borrow a Capacitor to see if that will help I can send one your way to test. Its a 1.5 farad Lanzar, works good to power my 2 2000 watt amps in my truck. Didnt even think about that! Stopped ALL headlight dimming in the truck. Im guessing shipping would be that bad, and its better than spendin 200 bucks to find out that it didnt help!

Yah, thats my next option. I was hoping for a whole package deal to get it over with though. Anyone know how deep the threads go into the heads? Id hate to get 12 bolts that are too long.  :screwy:

« on: March 22, 2010, 09:34:00 PM »
Yah, if the light is just going dim then bright again when it cuts out.. Id say its your power wire or ground. I dont know why it would be though.. 8 awg should be fine. Stupid boat stereos!  ;D Then again, 745 watt amp is pretty big, might just draw alot! Do either of the ground or power wires start to get warm after awhile?

I had that problem with the system in my party barge. I had a 600 watt amp powering 1 Sony 12 and when I cranked it it would turn the amp off. Is your deck turning off or just the power to the amp? First it was my deck, I was drawing too many amps pushing the highs (didnt have the highs amplified) and that was causing it to turn off at higher volume then switch back on automatically. I fixed that then my amp was turning off. I ran a 4 awg ground wire for the amp, which I really thought was alot of overkill for a 600 watt'r, but that fixed the amp turning off problem. Boats are a new world for me compared to trucks with systems.. everythings weird!

Has anyone else had this problem? I ordered a Intake bolt kit off jegs and the bolts are too short. I cant seem to find the right ones in a kit anywhere. Im just looking for some chrome or coated bolts. The ones I bought are an Inch and a quarter long and a couple grab maybe 2 threads and a few dont even thread up. I have stock heads with an Eldelbroke Performer 2.0. Any advice?
