Can a bracket from the spacer to the fuel rail work for ya? It doesn't have to be a ridged mount.
Perhaps a hole where the AN fittings go through on frt and rear? I love this stuff!!! ;D I just finished helping a guy put a snowmobile motor in a gyro-copter. Lots -o- head scatching! But fun!!!
I'm a machinist ...if ya need imput I'm only a keyboard away. ;)

EE  Errr My 02?? stay away from the accel!!
One of my buddies tried the accel on a procharged alky sbc with terrible results!!! Not good tech support, and non linear changes. I can find out what system he changed to. It was very simple!!
 He actually kept the motor in one pc. It's a 69 camero he's gone a best of 7.02 @ 197 at 5600ft.
Another buddy with the turbo mustangs likes the FAST system. A little more involved but stable.
My 02.
Good work!!! I'll help in any way possible. 8)

Hotrod56 The pisano & matsubara funny car is the one that coors heavy is with. Jeff Uttersback is the driver. He has a colum over on dragracingonline.com.
My buddy Kelly runs in Nostalga eliminator 1 a 7.60 index class. Yep Kellys sbc is 377ci 23 deg iron heads it makes some poop!!! A best of low 7.30's at 191 at 5600ft. Our goal for this year is a 6.99 at over 200mph. we ran out of fuel pump last year.
Lucky Stiff.....AWESOME offer!!! >:D Thank you!  When the valve heads came off they really tore up the cyls.  He replaced the heads, pistons, rings. The gouges in the clys were too bad and messed up the rings at the hit. He lifted and called it a weekend. he only got 2 qualifiers to make the field.
Thanx again for the offer!!! ;D  I love this board!!
We can still cheer for the car that Coors Heavy is with. ;D

PS..lucky , if he had 3 tries for qualifing he coulda thown in a stock short block with some tweeks and  help from you in it and tried again. Thanx for the offer.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: STUDS !!!!!!
« on: March 07, 2008, 03:38:49 PM »
You are correct..Brad is a stud.
I spin them in till they stop, then back out 11/2 turns. If they are tightened, when the nut is torqued the nut + the stud torque is on the threads. Tightening studs is BAD!!!! Why?  Say a head stud. It will crack into the cyl.
DO NOT RUN A TAP INTO THE BLOCK TO CLEAN THREADS!!!!! They remove material then the studs wobble like Elvis then strip!
Takea bolt and file or cut a groove down the lenght of the thread. This will collect the dirt in the threads. Or they make thred cleaners. Wire brittle brush in a drill works good also.
NO TAPS PERIOD!!!!

if ya have headers on the boat...yep! Even if ya have logs you'll have a baseline. Lean it a touch for logs after dyno with headers and run it. Dyno with the air filter!! Bring several,,, it's an eye opener!! ;D

Update.... :P
Sat 1 st pass     Blows the pinion gear out the frt of the 9", bends the motor mounts 2in. , trashes his
newly painted cowl, rpm's the motor ,  checks valve adj and spring pressure they
have not moved. good!  He finds a guy with a spare center section in Victorville. Off
                       he goes to get it.
Sun. 1st pass     1.09 60' on rear wheels about 1/2 track 2 valve heads depart valve stem, ugliness
happens. The guy who loaned him the center section has him come over to his place
in Victorville to work on his junk. New set of cyl heads, 2 new pistons , hone the
block to get some of the high spots off the cyls, this was last I heard. This guy in
Victorville is into boats also. Blown fuel, and a twin turbo BBC jet boat. People like him
are the salt of the earth. Yep!! Kelly will have it ready for the March Meet. ;D
