It is  "  The Perfect Storm "  people....

Thats one way to put it! lol.

Been in Retail most of my life, save for some stints doing autobody, car/truck/heavy equipment repair in between, and can tell you this much. Don't EVER work in the Finance, Human Resources/Personnel or Asset Protection Departments.........they're always the first to go!

Been my experience with mine that I really only operate just off idle in the NWZ, WOT to get it goin then either keep it there or lift to around 3000 rpm or so to cruise. Just the nature of the beasts. You have to be under power to even steer the things, not quite like a prop boat.

Personally, I think you need your power from the 2500-3000 rpm range up to the upper limit your engine can/will operate at. 5000-6000 rpm seems to be the norm. Single plane intakes are the ticket, but good results can be had from the dual planes. Really depends on your cam selection as well. I know a lot of boaters run and swear by the Performers, don't know about the others you mentioned. You can pick up used ones around here all the time though pretty reasonable for the BBC.

Not aware of any speed limits in Arizona either, but I would imagine if you were pulling a buck or better on a busy weekend, you'd certainly be having a conversation of an unpleasant kind if any of your paperwork was not in order.........  ;)

Actually, a great Idea! I have a few JBP ones for all the boats, but I could use about a dozen SCJB ones. 4 for on my phone and the rest for on the "waterproof" camera that sinks like a friggin rock.......... :screwy:

Install the carb in your hands, ride in a buddies boat, when you hit the middle of the lake, throw the Q-Jet as far and as hard as you can................ ;D

The best manifold for a Q-jet on a jet boat is the one at the Hydro plant attached to the Dam making the lake....... >:D

That out of the way, personally, and someone will chime in here far more knowledgeable than me, I would put that intake back and invest in a good Holley, Barry Grant, or some square bore carb first and an adaptor if needed. Then when you DO go for a better intake, you're better prepared, for one, but I think you'll get more bang for the buck this way initially. Just thinking out loud.......again......

That's IT!!! I'm never playing horseshoes with John around ever again! (And ESPECIALLY with Marc as a partner.......I'm surprised noones boat got hit.....) John's a ringer....... :sly:

Then again, I've sworn to NEVER listen to Rivertard before too, and yet.......he still suckers me in!

Thank you for all that Kim!

Yes, you will never find a better group anywhere! Kinda of like the "land of misfit toys", this crew, individually (Myself included), are nuts. Collectively, we are there for anyone as a single entity it seems at times. Times like this. We are all thinking of you guys right now.

Re: Cost

We paid $800 to the same paper you were reading about this incident for a 3 day obituary announcement for my mother.  My neice's notice was several thousands but that was a way diff deal.   I think the mortuary services were  3K before the caskets, flowers, limo, etc.

Tip of the iceberg. I hope theres a family member that steps up to try and handle/organize all this.....

C'mon guys, don't gotta be large, $10, $5. It all adds up. Theres what? 2200 members on here? $5 each and you have the chance to not only bankrupt Brad and I (No more boats, much to many's amusement), but the opportunity to give a family a chance! I think we all already know what Challenger was facing before all this.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Please someone
« on: May 25, 2010, 06:36:47 PM »
A  Mexican, an Arab, and an Arizona girl are in the same bar.

When the  Mexican finishes his beer, he throws his glass in the air, pulls out his pistol, and shoots
the glass  to pieces. He says, 'In Mexico ,our glasses are so cheap we don't  need to drink with the same one twice.'

The  Arab, obviously impressed by this, drinks non-alcohol beer (cuz he's a Muslim!), throws it into the
air, pulls out his AK-47, and shoots the glass to pieces. He says, 'In the Arab World, we have so much sand to make
glasses that we don't need to drink with the same one twice either.'

The  Arizona  girl, cool as a cucumber, picks up her beer, downs it in one gulp, throws the glass into
the air, whips out her 45, and shoots the Mexican and the Arab. Catching her glass, setting it on the bar, and calling for a refill,
she says, 'In  Arizona , we have so many illegal aliens that we don't have to drink with the  same ones twice.'

God Bless Arizona!!
