I will back Brad up on this 100%.  One of the biggest reasons people love the SCJB events, and come to them repeatedly, is because there is absolutely no riff-raff.
I am being completely honest when I say that EVERYONE GETS ALONG!  And that's a hard thing to believe with a group as big as SCJB has gotten.... But it's true.
My husband and I have been attending for 3 years now, and have never missed a meet, and we have met some of our very best friends through SCJB.... People we would not have met otherwise, for we all live in different states.
Everyone watches out for each other, kids are always more than welcome, everyone is always willing to offer a hand when needed or even when not needed, lots of laughs are always had, the best of times continue to be documented in the books, and I promise you, you will meet great people and make life lasting friendships... Friendships that continue to grow outside of the SCJB community.
Please don't believe, nor spread these rumors... For it will only be your loss.... Your loss of great times, great people, great fun, and lots of great memories!  Brad you know how much we appreciate all you do my friend.... That's why we love you!
I hope to see y'all out there.... And if haven't met you yet, my name is Heather, and the hubs is Sean (all fired up on the boards).... See ya soon!!!

Boat Racing / Re: Getting the woman units involved.
« on: August 11, 2015, 01:20:31 AM »
Hi boys!  Ok as one of the many SCJB wives here, I figured I'd give my two cents.  I will be the first to actually say it... Us women are weird.  Lol but it's true.  We can be shy, friendly, secure, insecure, fun, crazy, supportive, non supportive, etc etc etc.

The best way to get your ladies to come and enjoy the things you do, is to bring them... And bring them a lot!  The more you are around something the more fun it becomes.  Why?  Because then you learn and understand... Because learning and understanding grows into appreciation... Because the more you attend, the more people you meet and get to know... Because the more people you know, the more fun you have...

And then boys, guess what?!  Then your ladies want to go to see their new friends and have fun,  it no longer matters what they know or don't know about racing, boats, etc... It then becomes a social event and they are the ones bummed out when you can't go.... and next thing you know, your looking around at an event wondering where she's at only to look and see her having as much fun as you!

I will say there are so many great people on this site, as you know.  The events are such great fun!  Each and every one of them, as you also know.  If you don't already, come to as many events as you can!  My husband (All Fired Up) and I go to every single river event.... I am 100% honest with you in the fact that we have met some of our very best friends through SCJB, and we all live in diff states and never would have met otherwise.  Even if you can only make one event a year, due to distance, money, whatever, then I say do your best to make it! ....

And I promise that all of us SCJB wives will welcome your wife and show her one of the best weekends she has ever had!!  She will be buggin you to go again!! Oh! And if we haven't already met in person, I hope to meet you at a future event! 😃

Okay..... Lets slow it down...... I was a river rat at the age of 6 weeks.... Raised on jet boats.   I am now 37 years old with an 11 yr old son and a 6 yr old daughter....  Here's my two cents.... Even if they know how to swim, they KEEP THEIR LIFE JACKETS ON!  My 11 yr old never argues about it when the boat is in motion.... Actually prefers to have it on due to the speed.  (Yep, we have a fast boat... Or so me and my kids think... My hubs is 'All Fired Up', so you can determine for yourself ) LOL!!!
I do allow both my kids to take their jackets off on the beach... But my daughter must always have it on if she is waste deep in the water.  Keep in mind until this year she was NOT ALLOWED to take it off, even on the beach to play!!!!!  It only takes a second for them to slip away!!! They both can swim... But you can ever be too careful! I have a client whom has cut a child in half on their prop.... Enough said!
As far as jet boat coolness.... LOL!!!  Ive tried the squishy ear plugs, but they fly out... So here ya go!!!!!  These have always worked with no probs at all!!!

Lemme get the photo... Best for the kiddos ever!!!

Wow!!!  This is so awesome!!!  We really do have a great jet boating family on this site!!!  Hal is a dear friend of Sean and I, and for those of you that don't know him, I will say he is always one of the first people to offer to help out his friends, and holds his word.  For those of you that do know him, you already know that about him... That, and the fact that he makes a killer jambalaya!! Lol
As a close friend of his, I myself would like to say thank you!!  😎😄

Thank you for posting this Brad... This unfortunate circumstance could have easily happened to any one of us.... No matter how much you prepare and ready your boat for a weekend on the water, things like this can happen at any given time... We just thank goodness no one was hurt.
