Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Leaking Valve Cover
« on: June 15, 2009, 11:53:25 AM »
So i got new fabricated valve covers with baffles, etc.  They came with rubber gaskets.  Are these worth a shit?  One side keeps barely leaking.  Before i buy any kind of silicone i wanted to make sure that it would not better just to buy different gaskets, maybe cork?  Any advise would be much appreciated.

WOW...I am a "newbie" from Georgia.  I dont know any of you guys besides a few replies on here.  If its not that hard, i would really like, and i think folks that have not seen pics of that boat, would like to see a thread about R.I.P. (that name of that boat) and everyone gives there good time stories they have had on that boat with pics.  just an idea, but i would love to see pics of the boat considering MOOOOOOOOOOOO is so dope and would love to see ypur other boat!!!

Anyway my man......So happy to hear no one was injured. It could have been worse and you have your other bad ass boat to give ALL your attention now.

Good luck with the recovery!

A set of SUMMIT polished aluminum valve covers and SUMMIT polished wire looms.  One valve cover has one little crack from over tourqing.   I tried to fix it from the outside and did not work, but if it was done from the inside they would be good as new.  They are dirty just from me taking them off.  I have all the bolts, etc. No rubber Grommetts for the breather holes or no breathers.  No baffles, but could installed very easy.

FREE, if you want to pay for shipping i will ship wherever.

I may not check back until tomorrow, so just let me know.  I wil be able to mail them off probably on Tuesday.

I have a set of Bassett wet headers, if I coat them, will they get discolored? My question is, when I get them coated, do you run the headers dry? And, will they stay clean looking, with no dis-coloration? Any advice would be much appreciated, as I am anal about my chrome not looking good...If anybody has any good coating compaines that you would recommend, please let me know. Thanks.

« on: April 15, 2009, 07:57:38 PM »
i now have standard tall dek valve covers........cracked one of them.  Will these fit considering the bolts are on inside of the cover?  What would be best the gaskets to use for this applications?

THanks for the help
