You can turn in bad gas at most haz waste recycling sites, but some/most of them are under regs to not dump it out of your container so you have to be prepared to leave the container too. (Guess somebody musta died pouring bad gas so now common sense no longer works as usual...)

If you look close you will see a nice basketball sized dent in the rear door of the Burb. That was from my boat attacking my truck during a trailer drive on. 


I had been a drive on style guy for several years before that. And to be fair to myself I wasn't a total retard that day because I had just installed a diverter and was having trouble with reverser adjustments but...

I do a slightly similar thing with straps when I hang 2 of my boats to work on them. Maybe you could try what I do (where the straps go under the hull fore and aft) and then just get some friends to flip the hull while the straps cradle it.

There are several posts like this on PB and maybe some from SCJB if you do a search. Generally, the poster is asking what readings he should be getting and/or where on the intake to make the taps. The gist of the replies is:
a) tap the inlet in two locations (near the top and near the bottom)
b) always to try and get the readings as uniform as possible across the eye of the impeller. But it doesn't read to me like anybody ever gets them totally uniform, but that the boat does better once a loader is tuned to get them close.

Then a debate ensues about which are the two best locations - especially the top tap. Seems like most people say that if the tap is at the very top 12 o-clock it will get a lot of "shaft shadow" and turbulence.

The other common response is that little or no pressure in the intake is bad and real high pressure is bad. IIRC the "better" values are maybe in the 10's - 30's psi.

Bowl press taps seem to only need one location.

And whatever average pressure you are getting at the intake is "carried" into the bowl pressure value. If your observed inlet pressure goes up by 20psi then your observed bowl pressure will go up 20. Therefore (IMO) it isn't what the bowl pressure gage reads that matters but what the delta P difference between bowl static pressure and inlet static pressure is. Bowl press minus inlet press is an indication of what performance your impeller is achieving.

There are other members who will know much more than I do however!

For those of you who are 40+ years old - you might enjoy reading this thread on the HAMB. My feeling is that the original poster must be a younger guy and he was asking a legit question. He had an old hotrod he was starting to work on and it had some "strange" (to him) hardware on the rear suspension.

Anyway he made this perfectly innocent post on the HAMB and it quickly took on a life of its own - gathering almost 200 replies in about 2-3 days. I especially liked the side thread that got going over the photo of the car from "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot". Enjoy
