I picked up this boat last month after selling my Sleek. It had a 455 and a stringer that broke loose from the hull. The Olds is gone and after a bunch of help from this forum, the stringers are done.
The goal for this thing is the June meet in Blythe.

I got the stringers set and glassed in. It wasn't fun, but it's done. Thanks again to everyone for the help and info. I'm sure I'll have other questions as this build goes on

Good luck! I've been looking for a while and haven't found anything decent. I'm probably gonna have to drop $1200 on a new set from bassett.

I know the feeling and will probably go with set of Rewarders. I'm about a month away from needing them. Us small motor guys have it rough haha

Just thinking out loud here? You might be already going to do it? But you need to take a router and knock the corners off of your stringers... It will make life SOOO much easier when you get ready to lay the glass and give you a much better finished product... Nice work tho! Looking good! 👍🏻

That's S2-glass by the way, not E-glass.  S2 is structural glass, originally developed for aerospace, but without the material certification making it affordable at the consumer level.  S2-glass has around twice the tensile strength of common E-glass.

Just wanted to clarify.

I'm working on getting all the old glass and cloth out of the hull and it looks like the cloth was laid in with the intake out of the boat.  Is there a way around pulling the intake, like blending the new glass into the stuff that goes under the intake?

My last boat was a Sleekcraft and had a 3/4" transom in it. This Eliminator has about a 3/8" transom in it. Does that seem right?

I recently picked up a 75 Eliminator bubble. The fiberglass that's wrapped over the left stringer is broken where the stringer meets the hull and the stringer is loose. They are both Swiss cheesed pretty bad also. Anyway, I want to replace the stringers and bulkheads and after reading everything I can find on this forum, I'm still unsure of tackling this job.  The boat is down to bare hull with only the intake still in it. I've already got the new 2x6 kd Doug fir s4s.

Does anyone know of a good glass guy in Phoenix that is reasonable?

I can have the old stringers cut out, the grinding done and new ones ready to go in. If someone wants to help, i'll pay for a months supply of beer and bring the boat to you or whatever it takes.
