We have to get our boating in between the cold drizzly days here on the Oregon Coast. Last Saturday my son and I met at a local lake when the temp hit 64 (nice and balmy). We spent late afternoon trading off runs. No one to pull on the tubes, but what the hell. These are the first pictures that I have got of the boat actually moving.
You guys in the year around warm got it made. Not many jet boats around here (except for the occasional fishing boat), so mine gets a few looks.

On mine just the standard flip top that has the little spring loaded latch. I think Colins is the same but am not sure. Will have to ask him.

Good input. Never thought of TN. Got a buddy who grew up in Louisiann and Arkansas. He tells me there is beautiful country and cheap living but humidity can get crazy. We thought about mid Cali coast (drove through last fall and my wife loved it) but damn there are alot of people there and cost of living seems high. I spent several years in SF bay area and a bit of time in Simi Valley but dont' think I would ever live there. Not been to Arizona, but am interested. We plan a visit there next fall. We hired a guy from Phoenix and every time I talked to him when he was in the hiring process he told me it was over 100...that is too freaking hot! Of course he got up here and his wife lasted one winter and they moved back...quite on his last day of training which cost us a ton of money. So, the search continues. Unless I hit the lottery, then I am going to buy a cool place in a bout a dozen climates and travel between them. 

Check out a product called POR 15. It is a rust inhibiting paint. Used it on a pretty rusted up horse trailer and have seen it on boat trailers. Just knock off the big chunks of rust and paint, spray, roll or brush. For a nicer job prep like you would for good paint. It kills the rust and seals it. It actually looks pretty good, without a lot of work and keeps the coast cancer at bay for quite a while.

These jackasses are oportunists. Harden the target and "most" of the time they will go to the next easy score. That being said: replace all screws in your door hinges, door striker plate and bolt plate with at lease three inch screws so they go into the studs. PUt up motioin senson or motion/heat sensor lights and tune them for people, not dogs/cats. Leave the outside lights on if possible. PUt dowels in the window sill. Dont leave ladders or shit around that can be used to smash a window. Deadbolt locks! Talk to your neighgors and agree to look out for their place if they will look out for yours. When any of you see stupid shit going on, call the cops. YOu would not believe how many people have seen their neighbers house broke into but did not call, 'cause they werent sure". The cops job is to check shit like that out. And lock your shit up! Lots of people get ripped off when they leave their cars, houses unlocked and stuff laying out in plain sight. Problem is, you can do all that, minimize your risk, and still sometimes get ripped off. So, mark your tools, take digital pics and save it, write down your serial numbers or add an owner applied number, and write it down. If you get ripped off, check out all the pawn/second hand shops within a mile. These bastards are also lazy opportunists and dont like to carry stuff too far to get the $ for their dope or whatever. There is a dirrect correlation to a rise in opportunistic crime and a bad economy, but it is ot always as bad as the media makes you think. Most people are not victims of crime. Some just draw the short straw or don't take basic steps to avoid risk. Just my two cents. DT

All stock. I have a Tulsa tall windshield and set of driver running boards, but they are not on it right now.

Oregon is pretty tight with speed and does not give much slack. If the cop is a state trooper or county deputy that is assigned to a traffic team they would write their mother. If it is in the city or just a normal deputy they will give you some slack alot of times, just be nice and get em talking about something. Also gotta watch the "construction" zones. Does not seem to matter if they are working or not, state cops and traffic guys will pinch you and the fines are doubled. Most parts of the state on the highways you are ok at 8-9 mph over the limit and on the freeways 10 over + is the threshold most use. Oh, and watch the school zones. That is the really hot one up here now. Some places it is 20 all the time, and some places it is 20 only when kids are present. Courts will not lower those at all.

Stored indoors. Got lucky and found a private shop that was just built, that is only about 500 feet from the boat launch at Devils Lake in Lincoln City. They don't have power yet, but soon.

I am with you on the moving south. Got a couple of more years to retire and we are definately southbound. Somewhere warm, near water with a good tax structure and as far away from the mega liberal state of Oregon as I can get. Dont get me wrong it has been a great place to live. I lived in Bend (high desert) for many years and now almost 28 here on the coast. I just need a change and to let somebody else enjoy all this beauty for a while.

Thanks for the replies. Someone a while back suggested it looked like a Carrera. I was looking for an avenger when I found this and fell head over heals for it. We have only had it out twice now since picking it up in September. Here ion the Oregon coast it is cold and wet and will be for a few months. I am hoping to get it out at least a couple of times this winter though, regardless. The only thing I don't like about it is the right side drive. My leg gets all crinked up cause the pedal is so close to the seat and I have not had a chance to extend it out. Not sure if that will mean longer cables or what. As you will no doubt notice I am new to the jet boat world. I have had sail boats (common, don't hold it against me!) for the last 25 years. And I aint going back!
