119k for a clone with a C6. Not to be a ball buster but I can't see a clone with modern rims and engine dressing selling for that much. But then again suckers are born everyday. Does look nice from the couple pictures.

Looking for opinions here. So far I have two layers of woven 18 oz fiberglass laid down so far. The glass doesn't go up and over the stringers yet. The floor boards are gonna run along the out sides of the stringers and I was planning on running two layers of the woven in one piece all the way up and over the stringer and down into the bilge like what I have already done. My question is is this enough or should I run another layer up and over before the floor?  Planning one using chop strain one the nose and the transom before the floor. Already have a couple layers of woven on the transom. 500+ hp 454 is going in.

Yah it's all empty carpeted storage under the bow. And I think for 10k you shouldn't have to be doing any fiberglass work. I paid $1,000 for mine on a crappy single axle trailer berkley jet pump Gleenwood four point mount. Couple other parts. No motor.

I got a sleek craft SST tunnel couldn't tell you how it rides still putting it together.  Common problem with them is the through hull motor mount bolts. And the floor and transom rotting. Mine was all original wood minus the transom someone had replaced but never floated the boat again. Hulls a 1980 couldn't tell you how long it's been since it last floated. Other than that there really isn't much wood in the hull to begin with. Floor one stringer under the floor that mostly seems like a floor support thing. And the transom. From what I have researched and read the hull will ride nice and will be stable. The hull was the first jet boat to break 100 mph with a naturally aspirated engine. The seating area is small like knees in your chest back seat. Really cool looking boat. Wish mine was all white could paint it up real nice. Mine is yellow. Not the best paint scheme but still in good enough shape to look good at a distance.

Not be a troll but if you burn to death in a fire on a boat that's just natural selection

Eastwood sells everything imaginable for buffing and they sell a product that is a spray that is meant only for polished surfaces. I don't know how well it works but I am gonna give it a shot this summer it inexpensive and worth a shot.

Ingot those same exact exhaust brackets for our jet boat and the sanger super jet hull I am selling has the same trim tab set up but spilt for the jet pump. I can see why someone told me the sanger looks just like a Rogers.

Uh oh you said ball valve. Great debate soon to follow!

Search the site for engine cooling.

A pressure gauge is not an all around bad idea.

In theory, there are very few instances where one is necessary.

Of you have a valve between the pump and the engine and you can see your engine have a temperature rise,  you should be OK.

Just be aware of what's gong on.

So just a old fashion ball valve right off the pump say hook it up where my line breaks to run it on the garden hose and get a idea of what your base line is and keep the valve set at a good pressure. Now would this void having a pressure relief valve set up and just run the single water dump? Or would a pressure relief valve be a good back up?  The set up I have as of now doesn't have either. Just a single water dump and a basset T-valve for the headers with a ball valve before the T valve to regulate the water for the headers. I don't trust the set up was done right to begin with. I think maybe the last person deleted things or was just lucky.

So sad.  How or where could you install a pressure gauge to get a tuning on water pressure?

This is how I'm doing mine, Tom is a wealth of info and help and answers the phone. http://www.performanceboats.com/jet-boat-performance/251682-sleekcraft-stringer-project.html

I like the wood dowle set up. But if you scroll back to the beginning of this post I was told putting the stringers on top of the floor would be a bad idea and that the motor would eventually rip the ply woods apart layer by layer. I really can't see how so when I was planning on encasing the whole thing with woven heavy fiber. How has this set up worked for you and have you run it yet and how much hp?

Yah I know how they originally where set up and it's not going back that. Because of time and poor design the floor was nothing but dirt and the studs where paper thin where you couldn't see. I am sure if it was redone and sealed nice it could last but then again to check how things look the boat would have to be removed from the trailer to access the through hull bolts. Plus I don't have a three point set up here's a couple picture  I said I would put up. Makes you wonder what your bolts running through the hull look like doesn't it?

Alright more pictures to come of the redesign. And as for hiring someone. I think I would be very hard pressed to find some one willing to just even do the work in my area. Not to mention its sitting on blocks in my garage. New England isn't all that friendly of a area with boat work. But I do have a friend who has a lot of time behind working with fiberglass that's willing to help. And coming from a hands on back ground of anything that has a engine driving it I have confidence in my self I can get it done and done right with a little input from all you guys. All the info and eagerness to share on this site is priceless and very much appreciated. Thanks again!

Believe it or not I'll take another picture tonight they do need the height in the front. But ok stringers to the hull. Now mate or woven to attach them and I was planning on running woven right up and over them when I do the floor.
