Projects / Making boat fit
« on: February 10, 2018, 01:12:05 PM »
Hey all, I don’t post on here much but I figured this may help those in the situation I was in. Jet boats suck when it comes to putting them in your garage because the pump makes the boat too long for most garages. The options are usually to park it outside or put the boat at an angle which destroys garage space and it sucks. So here’s what I did and it worked out pretty good.

For three years I had my boat at an angle which made it to where the ol lady had to park her car on the driveway. My downstairs office shares the rear wall to my garage. All I needed was about six inches more garage space to park the boat straight. So I poked a hole in the office/garage wall hahaha. Fuggit. Got tired of losing valuable garage space. But it’s not as bad as it seems.

Once the hole was made, I framed it, dry walled it, mudded it. All that’s left is to texture and paint it. Turned out pretty good. Just thought I’d share in case anyone else was in my situation.

Those are most likely from DNA motoring in the city of industry and Rowland Heights, Ca. You can find the same ones on eBay from different sellers but all ship from Rowland Heights. They're Made in China and from what I've read on here and other forums is that they're ok but Bassett waterlines don't fit and they don't have their own waterline. Now those posts I've read were a couple years old so I decided to go down there yesterday and see for myself. Before going down there I called their customer service and asked if I would be able to go there and see the headers for myself and match up my old waterlines. He said I could but if I went after 4pm I'd be able to see them but not purchase them. So I got there about 4:15pm with my only intent was to check the quality and match up the waterlines. When I got there the guy at the counter told me he could not pull the headers out of the warehouse after 4pm. This contradicted what I was told on the phone and of course I wanted to punch a hole through his useless face. I told him I just drove 40 miles in traffic to see the part that I was told I could see. He wouldn't budge. So I bit my tongue and asked him about the headers and of course he knew nothing. He did tell me that a guy comes and buys a couple sets every month with no complaints. Needless to say, I don't like buying products from people or businesses that know nothing about their product. So I don't think I'll go back. Sorry for the long story but I'm pretty sure they're the same headers you posted, it's the same price. Thanks for posting that though much appreciated.
