Grainger carries all sizes of the nylon bushings.  As for the epoxy it looks like something was worn or out of alignment and it wore a groove in the bowl.

Were it mine, I'd fill the groove back with weld, sand it smooth then flip the bowl 180° when I reinstalled.  Take this with a grain of salt, though, because I don't always do things the proper way, I do them the way that works for me.

Something is back-feeding the ignition.  Could be the alternator, could be a crossed wire, could be the switch itself.

Jet Pumps / Re: Diverter Reverse Dilemma
« on: March 10, 2021, 01:17:01 PM »
Thanks for the info guys.  It is a 43BC cable, the end with the threads/nuts on it is bolted to a bracket at the reverse handle.  I need to fab a new bracket to hold the end in my picture, and then I can assemble/install such as the diverter in the link Mash On It provided.

You want a 1/4-28 heim end.

Copy, but how do I secure the cable to the upper part of the bracket?   On my old setup there was a small saddle clamp to capture the cable, on the new setup it's a large dia. hole.

FWIW. The current reverse cable is a 43BC, can I simply turn it around and then fab up a new mount/bracket at the reverse handle?

Sorry, forgot all about this thread.  If the other deal for the cables falls through, shoot me a PM and I'll take them off your hands.

I run a Wix 51060 filter on mine.  There are two ways to get the oil out.  I have a fitting that threads into the port right above the oil filter that I can put a 3/8" hose on and use my drill to spin the oil pump and pump the oil out that way, or you can use a tube and a pump(drill or electrically driven) to suck the oil out of the dipstick hole.

The only think you 'should' need to install a dipstick is the dipstick and tube.  There should be a tab for mounting that ties into one of the header bolts to hold it in.  Not sure if there is a mounting boss on the block as mine bolts to the header.

I've seen anywhere from 4 qts to 6 quarts to fill one and even more if you have a larger pan.  Stock car oil pan should be ~5 qts.  You can pour the oil in the breather hole in the valve cover.

I bought my Rogers out in Sacramento a couple years ago. When I got it back to TX it ran like dogshit the second time out.  I flushed the tanks and found crap like in your first pic all in the fuel.  I've cleaned the tanks twice since then and try to only run non ethanol gas.
H2O and E-anything sucks.

I don't have anywhere near 675HP, but I'm running -10 on my 454.  -8 to the OT headers.

I put a mallory electronic setup in an old point dist. and run a seperate coil, you can get HEI terminal caps for point distributors so that you can reuse your plug wires.  A Unilite, or similar dist. would work as well.
