The No Wake Zone / Re: Any Ford 6.4 Diesel Owners?
« on: May 14, 2011, 08:36:47 PM »
My 7.3 runs great and I dont mind the exterior.. Its the interior that bothers me to death. Under 120k miles. I know the 6.0s are junk without the right upgrades but Iv heard good about the 6.4 except the mileage. Never any info on towing though. The Duramax that Id want is over 40k and this Duty would be around half the cost.

Hey, So I just got offered a smokin deal on an 08 Super Duty.. and I think Im going to pull the trigger. I was just wondering how you guys liked yours. I have the 7.3l right now which I like alot, but its just not modern enough to make me happy. Looks like a damn work truck and that wont cut it anymore. Iv driven the 08 alot and I know its well taken care of and has 36k miles. Iv never towed anything with them and thats what concerns me. I never keep a truck longer than 2 years but I want to change that! I atually really want a Duramax but for the price Im having a hard time walking away from these damn Fords!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / BBC Harmonic Balancer Question
« on: May 07, 2011, 09:51:40 PM »
Ok.. This is driving me nuts.. Whats the deal? Im trying to get a balancer cover for my 396 and Im having no luck. I already have an 8 inch cover from my 468 project and I ordered a new 6.75 cover and neither one fits. I put a tape on this balancer and its 7 inches dead nuts. Why doesnt Summit or ANYWHERE for that matter make a 7 inch cover?  :banghead:

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / AN Fitting Sizes
« on: May 03, 2011, 09:24:22 PM »
Hey, Is there a way to know what size AN fittings I need to order without guessing? Im new to the AN world and was told that 6 AN was 5/16, 8 AN is 3/8, and 10 AN is 1/2.. but thats just not seeming to work out right. I have to order a bunch of fittings to run my waterline and guessing just isnt going to cut it! Thanks

« on: April 18, 2011, 08:21:45 PM »
I didnt properly drain my logs on my old flat last season and one cracked from the cold. Had a local guy TIG em up for me and never had any problems. Just makes em a little ugly if you can see the repair.

I still wanna kill my buddy for not picking those boats up! We went 2 weeks ago and checked em out, I fell in love with the tahiti but he was scared about a simple pump swap. She sure cleaned up nice! Congrats.. This site has tons of info and (some  ;) ) helpful people around. You got him to split up the 2? That was a no go when we asked.

The No Wake Zone / Re: 2wd Tow Rig?
« on: March 24, 2011, 09:12:16 PM »
Perfect! Looks like Ill start setting it up as a tow rig then. Iv never had to use the 4wd in the Ford but it also has 15 inch wide mud terrains where the chevy has some lame street tires.. I think it'll do fine with a posi. Thanks again guys.

I see them do it all the time with no problems.. I was just wondering if they just got lucky and its usually a pain. I almost never go boating with just my boat so getting pulled out shouldnt be an issue. Just hate to be "that" guy holding up the ramp because I had to look cool!  8)

I notice that alot of you use 2wd pickups to tow your boats.. My question is how well do they pull your boat out? We have pretty steep ramps around here but Id really like to use my custom 97 chevy 2wd to tow mine around for the cool factor. Fords just not that cool lookin anymore.  ;D I plan on getting a limited slip or posi for it. Its also on 20s and low pro tires if that helps..
