In today's paper. Supposed to be done by December 31. That is the deadline. They can't work between January 1st and June 30th because of some endangered species breeding.

Yes your right. It has gone back and forth whether it was going to get done or not. They finally decided to get the ball rolling. I guess the longest part was waiting for the permits and such. Army corps of engineers controls that I guess.

A lot of you know how bad and gross the marina is at lazy harrys marina (sunshine marina). They are fixing the problem by installing four 42 inch pipes from the river flowing into the marina to prevent the stagnant water and tall grass from growing. The pipes will begin flowing at 4 units realeasing from the dam. maximum release from the dam is 5 units. you will only see 4-5 units in summertime. They started it about 1-2 months ago. Here some pics.

I also have a titan. 2006 SE package. 4door. 4wheeldrive. Owned since new also. Had to replace radiator after previous one cracked. Had dealer replace exhaust manifolds twice. And I think the driver side is leaking again. A/C vent selector moves on its own about once a month. Have 67,000 miles on it. Overall it's been a good truck. No major complaints.....just headaches here and there.

Just looked at the water release report for Sunday. Same as Saturday. Starting 3 units at 9am so again you guys won't see it til around 1pm. Have fun. Be safe.

Full river is 5 units. And 5 units is what it is all summer. This time of year 4 maximum is probably normal. And FYI from the time of release from the dam to the time it gets to the avi is around 4 hours. Maybe a little longer. So on Saturday 3 units is getting released at 9am so you guys down at the avi won't see it until around 1pm.

I plan on going regardless how low it is. Without sounding sappy, boating on the water is just a perk on these trips to me. I love just hanging out, shooting the shit, and tossing beers back with everyone.
I know a few of you live in the area and I know Gil is out there this weekend as well. I will try to get reports of water levels over the next few days. I really hope this doesn't discourage people from going.

Local river level drops
Published: Friday, October 5, 2012 1:26 AM MDT
BOULDER CITY, Nev. — Beginning today and continuing through the month, Colorado River water releases from Davis Dam north of Bullhead City will be uncharacteristically low due to reduced water demands downstream. The Bureau of Reclamation is also reducing releases from Hoover Dam, creating flow conditions that are lower than usual for this time of year.
The reduced water releases will result in lower than normal river water levels throughout the Laughlin/Bullhead City area. While Colorado River levels in the area normally fluctuate, this reduction from Davis Dam will result in peak flows dropping from about a four-unit flow or 19,000 cubic feet per second, to no higher than a two-unit flow, or 9,200 cfs. A one-unit change in flow is equivalent to approximately two feet in the river’s depth below Davis Dam.
Boaters below Hoover and Davis dams should exercise extra caution during this period of reduced river flows as sandbars, boulders and gravel will be exposed, creating more hazardous river conditions.
The temporary reduction in water releases is necessary because of a break in the Central Arizona Project canal near Bouse, Ariz., approximately 50 miles southeast of Lake Havasu City. While this part of the canal is out of service, Colorado River water deliveries are being temporarily halted. Daily and hourly information on releases from the Bureau of Reclamation’s Colorado River dams is available on Reclamation’s web site at www.usbr.gov/lc/riverops.html.

Yeah buddy fiber glass tanks are bad news. I had to deal with deteriorating and leaking tanks. Tried patching them. But it was a band aid on a broken leg. All that cocktail of resin and fiber in your gas now is going straight into your carb and motor. Clogged up my canister fuel filter and filled my lines with junk. Should have seen the inside of the bowls of the carb. Anyways.....finally had them ripped out and replaced with aluminum tanks I got off of Craigslist. Keep your eyes on Craigslist and Scjb and performance boats for alum or ss tanks that will fit your hull.

Yeah it gets nasty at the end of summer. That's when all the grass,weeds have been growing all summer long. Check out this site for river levels. I use it all the time. Made it an app on my phone.

« on: August 23, 2012, 08:35:28 PM »i have a torker intake manifold and it rotates the carb in such a way that it puts the fuel rail right into the valve cover. i have one of those 30* swivel fittings on it right now, and then a line runs down to the fuel pump. i dunno where else really to put it. not in the picture below is the alternator that sits right in front of the exhaust manifold. i could somehow fandangle it on the front of the motor but for what? one foot difference than it being on the stringer? you think it'll make that much of a difference?
With only a foot difference I don't know how much of a difference it would be. I just know that the closer the better to prevent pressure drop in between the regulator and the carb. Most people mount them right off of the carb or in front of it on the intake. But like you said your intake makes your carb angled. Maybe get a carb spacer to lift it up just enough to give you some clearance....

I've got an Aeromotive regulator for sake over on PB. And I think it's the closer the regulator to the carb(s) the better.
