Boat Racing / Burley race 6/25 & 6/26 Cancelled
« on: May 26, 2011, 01:08:35 PM »
Just got off the phone with Mark Moyle in Burley. Due to high flood waters and with more to come they are cancelling the races. They wanted to give us plenty of notice so people could cancell their reservations or change their vacation days.     As for the CJ's there is a race in Black lake washington in july, i believe it is the 8&9 th. Who would be interested in going?

Garmin E trex is fine. The kill switch can be found at REX < CP Performance etc. The drivers  raise their hands to acknowledge the crowd on the Parade Lap. They will also raise their hand if they break down to inform other drivers. Don't worry about making mistakes. Everyone who has raced has made some and thats how we learn. Its all about being safe and having fun.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Noise in 4.8 L chev motor.
« on: May 03, 2011, 02:19:41 PM »
Noise is there at idle, hot, cold and increases at rpm,s but not as fast as motor is turning. It is definately inside the motor.I heard they use some sort of plastic shield around the push rod,so i thought i could find someone more familiar with this motor.

The No Wake Zone / Noise in 4.8 L chev motor.
« on: May 03, 2011, 01:30:25 PM »
There has to be some Chev Techs out here. I have a 2007 truck with a 4.8L that is making a funny engine noise. It sounds like a metal rattling noise on the drivers side . Disconnected belt so i know that its not belt driven equip. Not valves or rods because the motor runs good, no check engine light. Not from flywheel because when i rev it up id stays pretty consistant. Any Ideas

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: 1-wire or 3-wire??????
« on: April 14, 2011, 03:41:24 PM »
if you use a 1 wire  there is a rubber cap covering up two push on terminals on the top rear. you need to run a jumper wire from #2 to the charging post. this makes the alternator charge at all speeds. I use  a 1 wire on the CJ and i run MSD and have never had a problem.

Ron    to run NJ he doesn't need full stringers. The local rules were made so that they can run just about anything as long as they are safe.,and meed the NJ Rules.

Shirl  I talked to Matt at Jet boats plus in Lake Havasu. He said he has 2 boats that want to run NJ at Parker.   I will post on Performance boats. There was suppose to be a lot of interest in NJ but no one is stepping up.

The Havasu race is a 300 mile enduro the week before Bluewater races. It is not a CJ Points race.  If there is enough boats there will be a nostalgia Jet class or they can race with the Nostalgia Endurance class

Looks to be a GEN V block . You need to check the heads before you look for cams etc. Most gen v's do not have adjustable valve trains. You must convert them . Check the casting #s on the heads
