The No Wake Zone / AA/Pauls Boat Bling
« on: August 25, 2008, 08:36:48 AM »
Finally got some pics. 8)

I had to make the spacers because the Offy intake will only let ya run Carters, or Holley vaccum secondarys in line. These are 650 DP's that run on E-85. So I made the adpter to turn then sideways and incorperated the fuel log into it. I also had to make the Hiem joint holders for the linkage to space them out for fuel line clearance.

The forward/reverse thingie has a piston from a DFX turbo Cosworth . I made 2 of these. One for the boat and 1 for the truck that has a Judd 10 cyl. F1 piston on it.

You can see the "full flow" fitting on the oil return line from the head.

"The  Leper " is looking up.

The No Wake Zone / First time driving a boat ,Funny sh*t

Jorks brendella thred (with his steering backwards) had me remembering my 1st time out.

Last year I bought the Kona cause it was cheap and I had a wild hair.
I have never been in a boat!!!
After finding the lakemy buddy and I (both drag racers) figure hell no problem. Are sides are hurting after watching for 1/2 hr people try to back up and launch. Check the plug yep. I back up till it floats,
we switch places and I'm in the boat.Fire it back up...ahhh crap there's no #%*6 ing neutral!!! frwd.rev, circle repeat several times. Oh no rudder on the POS either. My bud comes staggering down the hill to the dock in tears laughing his ass off and tells to bring it to the dock. YA right!!! I tell him I'll get close and he can jump on. All this over open headers and other boats lining up for the entertainment!! I make a pass close to the dock an he makes a good Pete rose jump on the bow.
He had liberal sun tan lotion on and almost went off the other side. Now I'm laughing along with the rest of the people who are now cheering us on. We head toward the end of the no wake zone and WTF
waves are coming over the front, sides, front again. I'm thinking we're gonna sink!!My buddy is franticly triing to get his SECOND life jacket on!!! Yell at him what the hell!!??? He then (inbetween cussing my ancestery and anything else he cane think of) Tells me he CANNOT swim!!! I can not breath cause I'm scared and laughing histeriacly!!! Anyway I give it somre peddle and the nose comes up ,Cool!!! cruze aroud and throttle it ,let off the gas ...holy crap we're gonna drown again as a wall of water is tryiing to come over the back side. We servive that and procede to lauch the tool bag, ice chest , xtra life jackets, camara and everything else that was inside the boat while hauling ass around the lake.We are sunburned tired depressed and hungry cause we lost allthe stuff out of the boat. We head home realizing death is sometimes kind to stupid people.
Yep we at the lake the next day!!! LOL   Hope ya'll can enjoy this.  AA/Paul

Hulls / Turn fins on bottom?
« on: August 24, 2008, 02:05:51 PM »
What do you start with for a fin? Where to place it? How many?
I'm just looking to make the thing handle better. Stock back end. Should I start with non-movable
rear cavplate type things or the bottom fins?

Things are slow out here also. More people seem to be buying used boats or keeping thier existing ones.
The $ involved in an "eggbeater" repair is sobering.Same with I/O. Gas does not seem to be an issue as much as maintiance. If it breaks it usually gets sold as is.
Not an expert , just my O2.
