Random Boat Parts For Sale / Re: WTB: Puke Tank
« on: June 30, 2013, 11:47:29 AM »
O it's the vertical style one. I'm looking for the one that most people mount horizontal up near the intake.
That vertical one should look good on your boat with the blue though

Horizontal styles are out there too.

I bought my Bahner one morning last July ..... played on the River for the day, then loaded up and headed home..... 1600 miles later, no problem and no problems since.  It's got a floater bar and it rides very good.... No tie downs.

Muff! Which one did you buy and could you put up a pic when it's on? Thanks

This is the one.... not a high dollar item to be sure, but it looks serviceable and I'm going to try it out this weekend. I did not get a chance to install it last night....  I'll post a thread of the install sometime this weekend.

I am going to try cleaning the filters  but most likely will end up putting a puke tank in sometime.

I just bought one online and it arrived yesterday  .....  putting it on tonight after work. Several sellers had multiple styles... Round.... Square.... Aluminum. Carbon fiber ( expensive )...  Hopefully
It works ..... I'm also tired of the mess thru the breathers

Bite the bullet and install a diverter.  The Bahner will plane quicker and with a hydraulic set up you will have infinite control of your ride within the travel limits of the diverter.  You and your son will love the modification.  :)

That's exactly right.... I put a Diverter on my Bahner and the difference is night and day as Dave said.

I just got a new 75' rope... A friend said to pull one length off of it(maybe 6-8'). Why he said that I don't know. I already plan to put it back on for this weekend. Even at that length with a knee boarder I noticed a lot of rope under water when towing. Wouldn't that be much worse at 100' or does it really matter if it drags?

I use a 60' rope to pull the kids on the tube.   I run the Diverter down and it makes for a cleaner ride for them .

If u have no Diverter a longer rope is better ( it was for us anyway) for that same reason.... Less 'firehouse' to the face.

Trailers / Re: NEW LED'S
« on: June 26, 2013, 04:31:34 PM »
Nice, I'm redoing two trailers. My dads neighbor owns a trailer parts business so I get a good deal on parts and always free shipping.

It's always nice to have a source other than retail when ya can.  !!!!!!

OK...here's the final product.

It was much easier to install the new hose than to remove the old hose...( petrified... rock hard....leaking )
It was a great price too... less than $40.00 bucks including shipping ( I ordered 3 feet and got just shy of 4')

I also tossed the old worm drive clamps for stainless "T" style clamps I bought at Fastenal.

   UPSIDE DOWN PHOTOS  ???.........    :screwy:

Trailers / NEW LED'S
« on: June 26, 2013, 09:14:09 AM »
Switched all the trailer lights to LED's.....  much brighter and not too bad price wise.   Bought em at a Trailer repair shop where I get  all my big truck trailers repaired.

I like the 10 year guarantee as well.....   ;D

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: fuel adjustment 460 ford holley
« on: June 25, 2013, 08:57:04 AM »
I have a jet boat with a 460 Ford engine in it and I just replace the Holley pump to read Holley pond the boat when I put it in the water starts to shut off after a few seconds of running how do I adjust that

I had a sleek craft back in the late 70's  when I set the boat on the water off the trailer it would not start.   EVER.....
I would have to load it BACK on the trailer, pull it put of the water.....start it on the trailer THEN put it back in the water .... Did it every time or the 2 years I had that boat .....

I never could figure out that weirdness..

Found a great deal on some Shields exhaust hose on eBay.  Installed and now leak free.  It was a breeze to put on  compared to the old rock solid stuff that was on the boat when I bought it.

« on: June 19, 2013, 03:18:37 PM »
Downloaded a couple GPS apps.  One read 61 mph.   The other 60 at the lake this past weekend.

Pitot tube speedo reads approx 4-5 mph slower.

Just how accurate are the apps???

A diverter can be the best thing for someone being towed but at the same time it could be there worst enemy. Last time I was towing my brother around he was lipping off  because i wasnt going fast enough, a quick up and down on the diverter changed his attitude

LOL

Back in the good ole daze. ( think late 70's)  if you didn't ... Or would not get off the ski.... You'd be 'jetovated'....

how are the kids enjoyin dodgin the fire hose ?

my son calls it the pressure washer   :D

LOL.  My kids said the same thing ..

It was worse before I put the Diverter on...now I keep it in the down position when they ride..

I'm very careful about NOT raising it when they are on.... I worry about wacking them with it.
