I started out with Security Paving when i first got into the union as an apprentice and after 2 years ended up with Las Vegas Paving and ive been with them ever since. Pretty much stuck with the dirt work but ive been on a couple portable crushers when i first started out. But those pics are from LVP. they have alot of nice equipment, unfortunately i was in a work truck that blew a tire on the freeway doing 70 and was ejected and ended up fracturing my neck. But luckily im doing pretty good and out of my brace now and hoping to go back to work soon!

Well I'm gonna pipe in as a fellow sprint owner and say don't paint it. I bought my boat complete but gel was in very similar condition, do some research and try to wet sand/polish it, original is always better if feasible. I spent three weeks wet sanding/polishing mine and gonna cap it this winter, gotta keep up with the joneses or at least JE:). It's an awesome hull and will haul a$$ with a decent mill

I hear you on the gel coat.. but if you look at the 5th pic down on my original post on the left side of the boat near the fuel cap theres a section there thats been painted. Its only where the silver is but its about 3-4 ft long. and then on the side of the boat(same area just the bottom side of the rub rail) but that section is only about 2 ft long and is again only in the silver. So im interested to see when i sand that off what is under there. Plus the underside of the boat is also painted which is not really noticeable. And your paint scheme is slightly more attractive lol. But i probably will try to sand/buff it to see how it comes out before i throw the money at paint. Plus paint is last on the long list of things i need to do. Glad to hear they run good also. It really didnt seem like there was alot of sprints out there when i was kind of researching but now all your guys are coming out of the woodwork!

Good deal. Like i said this is my first boat, so if you see anything that doesnt look right dont be afraid to point it out. But the more you guys like it the better i feel about it cauz this is the way i got it. Probably gonna start in on it next week.

Looks like your Sprint has the narrow stringers---1x instead of 2x  material-- That is pretty rare. I suspect the pump setback may be factory as the only other narrow-stringer Sprint I know of also had a factory setback. That boat is owned by Jim DeBoard who posts as Howler439 over on Performance Boats. You might want to contact him and compare notes.

Could we get a pick of the transom just below the pump as well as a shot of the bottom going forward from transom.

Hey guys! im new to the site but ive been looking around it for the past few months and checking out the videos. i just picked up my first boat and am excited to have a project. its an 82 eliminator sprint less motor and seems to be in decent shape. it has a berkeley jg pump (split bowl i believe) that is set back 3 1/2" and just the standard nozzle, it also came with a semi pro open center loader. id like to pick up a droop snoot and hydraulic place diverter for it. the pump is complete parts wise but not together so any advice on where i can get the pump put back together or who can show me because i have no experience with them and want it done right. the hull is in ok shape, theres a couple stress cracks on the bow and it could definitely use a good buff but im thinking about having a buddy of mine paint it and help me freshen up the supports and little fiberglass stuff inside. i got some parts with the boat like motor mounts for a bbc, an alternator, starter, rewarder headers, gas pedal and a few other misc parts. as far as a motor goes i think im going to find a 2-3k dollar donor boat with a complete 454 or bigger and using what ever i can from it and sell whats left over. i just got the boat about a week ago so first on the agenda is getting the pump back together and the hole around the pump taken care of, the guy i got it from had some 1/4" aluminum he cut out for it but it will block off the clean out and im not sure if thats a good idea or not. any advice, tips constructive criticism or help would be greatly appreciated. my goal is to have it ready for next summer and get it on the river and meet some of you guys!
