Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: gate vs ball
« on: July 12, 2016, 09:04:17 AM »
How many reasons do you want?

Cheaper
A ton more adjustability.
The flow characteristics are reverse.
You can lock them down.
Rebuildable.
Are full port when wide open.
You can get them anywhere.

Hey Glenn, I bought my Shockwave from Shockwave, and it came with a ball valve. Since it already had it, should I just leave it or should I take the time and change it to a ball valve?

What's the spacing? Would you ship it?

10" center to center. Sure if you pay for the ride. Something this size should be like $15 or $20 with FedEx I think.

I am not an expert. But on my Cyclone, the top deck does not "fade" back to the transom like that. I have a noticable "lip"

Mine is like yours as well, only mine has been capped so its smooth, no rub rail. I also do not know what the difference is between the cyclone and super cyclone.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Santa Clarita or Corona
« on: May 23, 2016, 09:37:19 AM »
I live borderline Corona / Riverside near McKinley and I work in Marina Del Rey (about 8 miles from Hawthorne). My boss lives in Santa Clarita off of Magic Mtn Pkwy. My commute is about 10 miles longer than his but it takes us the same amount of time, anywhere between an hour and a half to 2 hours on bad days. So, its really going to come down to preference.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Bilge blower
« on: May 20, 2016, 03:19:50 PM »
You only need to run the blower for 2 minutes before start up and when idling. Once you are at speed you can turn the blower off. I see how the extra blower bringing in fresh air will help clear the fumes a little faster, but I don't think its absolutely necessary. just my .02

That's a long putt on jet skis I think it like 25 to 30 miles or so from the Avi

Yeah, Pirates is quite a ways down, would be a fun cruise though.

couple pics from that trip. You can see that shallow spot.

That was really informative Dan'l , very cool. I also rented a house in Bullhead and only drove down to the Avi but it was still a fun cruise. The house we rented was about a 1/4 mile up from Lazy Harrys, and that shallow spot Dan'l mentioned is a pretty big area. I would definitely wait until the water comes up. Our dock was sitting on the sand until almost noon that day and you could see the water changing direction around that really shallow spot. Just look out for those low spot that Dan'l mentioned and have a safe fun trip.

Haha lol ya I move up lol. I raced pro for 2 years and quit when I was 21 and real life hit. And as far as the station wagon.... To me it don't matter what you have as long as it floats and there are river sodas that are cold 🍻

Gimme that BECKY!

True that, I've got the old Rogers too..... I bought the station wagon so I could still take my mom out because it's more comfortable and she has some health issues, but now she's to the point she can't get on the boat at all anymore so...... maybe I can start taking it out again.
