Engine Mechanical / Electrical / CAT rods I'm gonna try em
« on: February 29, 2008, 10:20:51 AM »
I figure they got ta be better than stock for an Olds 455. It's about the same $ as reconing the stock ones. Yepperdooo  I'll be giving the evil eye  >:D  On ALL the Dimensions!. The motor will not see above 5500rpm ...unless I air it out. A rev limiter might be a good idea. I'll have ta check the msd 7al .
My msd 10 has it but it's in a buddies racer.

Boat Showcase / Re: Blower motor
« on: February 22, 2008, 12:56:32 PM »
On a blown injected gas motor, alky is different, some surge is normal. I've only done 1 blown injected gas set-up. The injection pump, unless it's overdriven, spins at 1/2 motor soeed. Even running the idle check valve at a higher presure only helps so much. The barrel valve has to be on the rich side for any type of snappy response. There is no accelerator pump!. In the vid you can see him blip the throttle. It's snappy. Good to go. Alway go rich in the tune up. Then back it down. Hope that helps.
Blower with carbs....no clue.

He tells them, then handles it a couple seconds later. He's a happy playfull kid. The teachers tell me they wish they had a class full of him. He's just fearless and physical.

IMO  It's all part of the neutering of our country :-\
My son who was 5 at the time. Had issues with a bully at day care. I talked to them about it. Was told the other kid has been a constsant problem. Long story short. My son gives him a "tune up". They want to throw my son out for protecting himself!!?? The other parents thanked me..signed a petition he was allowed to stay. I left, but proved my piont. I tell my son to first tell the person what's gonna happen if they continue to push or bully him. Let em have it!!! I'll deal with the teachers ...he deals with the kids!!!  >:D   He's in 3rd grade now.

The oval ports will do ok. By the time ya got the merlins done you'd be to the 1000 mark. For a little more a set of alum. heads could be had. Just my thoughts.

Yep!!  You'll be fine. 8)
I assume yer talking about the E-85.?  If so yer in good shape. Clean up nthe chambers so there's no sharp edges and deburr pistons. The cooling effects of the E 85 helps prvent detonation. What heads do ya currently have? Open chamber? Double check piston to Cyl head/ valve clearance with cam degreed and one piston and rod in the block. thin layer of playdoo on piston/ slowly rotate/ cut impressions/measure. Call me if ya need more info! ;)
