Could be a trim or trailing button. Maintenance, Once a year.(water pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, gear oil, lube it) Take a picture of it, best bet is trim button.

I wish i could go buy a jet boat. The wife said no, Maybe because my buggy just went to the shop. I've been looking for a 350 on craigslist. Looked at 4 or 5. They were junk. Looks like I'm going to take the motor out of the truck and use it for now. Next year I will build one for it or the buggy. By the way, did you get the boat running.

so I got a screwdriver to turn the 2 little phillips heads screws and that didn't work so I got a socket and ratchet and THAT didn't work so I gots me a freakin hammer and THAT WORKED!

I too, grew up with chevy. And I drive ford's now. But if your just going stock to stock in boats. Ford's win. Four years ago, we built two jet boats (same hull). One ford (460) and one chevy (502) The ford would pull the chevy all day, from a dead stop. I would think that the chevy would have win. But I so wrong. I pull that 502 out and put in a 454 blown and smoked that ford all day long. So what is better than a chevy 350?

I'm going to pump my tanks out. So I will have pre-mix gas, it was 110. But it's been sitting since last year. It's good for weed eatters. I ran mine on it all weekend. Or weed killer. Plus a have 3 metal drums (55gal) free too. But that gas is 2 to 3 years old.
