The No Wake Zone / thinking of buy this mold.
« on: February 24, 2007, 09:46:51 AM »
I have a chance to buy this 20' openbow tunnel. What do you think? The guy will let me use the mold for now if I want. But not for long. Do you think I can make money on them?  I was thinking of asking $8,000 for a bare hull and 11 to 11,500 with a trailer. And I think in the mid 30's for a finished boat.

Need help or Ideas would help. thanx

what should I ask for a twin outboard tunnel with 2.5 mercurys with 60 hours on them. Boat's 1999 finished at the end of 2000. holds six to ten people. Bimini top and trim trabs also new. I'm asking $29,000 for it. Is that to much.

there are some run jets that run there. like rubber ducky and moneysucker. That's were we go. I haven't been in a year and only go a few times a year. That's why the twin is going. I'm going to get a fishing boat for me and the kid. OH and fix my jet boat.

IF you set the trim tabs all the way down and jack the motor all the way up and then trim the motors, while running surface props. equal big roost. first time I did that almost hit my buddy boat with water.

The water is force down the tunnel and with the motor sitting behind the tunnel openings. It makes the water seem deeper.  Also with the low water pick ups on the motors, jack plate and a set back plate. Only a few inches are hanging down under the boat. I've built a few duck boats that would run on inches of water and take off in less than 16 inches of water.(with a tunnel hull design) I don't like run in shallow water. But I was racing a jet and find out the hard way, that way that the boat can run in shallow water. Looking at a sandbar and just seeing one corner with a ripple of water over the sand. trimmed up and gassed it. Made it, no mud in the roost and no dragging. I run the lowwer river. And there some sandbar!

The twin should run around 120 with better props. But not with me in it. 100 is to fast for me now. I've been 146 in my old hydro. I also threw out of it at 105 (bye bye boat) Plus I have a kid and want to have fun with he!!!

the twin throw a big roost than my old jet did. And the  jet nozzle was cut for more roost. The different between your buddy jet and my twin is, I can run all today at 100. Shallow water, The can run in 6 inch of water, the motors are set behide the tunnel.(on plane) Yes my jet run in shallow water. But stay on the gas and don't stop. My buddy thought that my twin was slow, because his when 128. Then we raced (dead stop) no bull running. He lost. But I'm going to go back to a jet. Just because I can't ski behide my twin. I try, but it sucked. The price on the twin new was 39k and my old jet or my new jet (same hull) is old with 502, (33k). New one with the blown 454, (42k)
